This week’s episode is with Kayleigh Davenport. Kayleigh is one of 45 international riders selected to compete in the longest and toughest horse race in the world— the Mongol Derby. For ten days each August, the Mongol Derby recreates Ghengis Khann’s legendary postal system from the 13th century. Over the course of 10 days and 1000 kilometers, Kayleigh will trace the iconic route by traveling along a massive network of horse stations. At each station, separated by 40 kilometers, Kayleigh will switch horses and continue on her journey. Kayleigh must navigate and survive on their own wit and skill while living among the Mongolian herders. In her own words, Kayleigh will, "race over 1000km across the Mongolian steppe with just me, a horse and a few GPS points guiding me along the way."
