Kchat Jjigae Podcast

We're back for our first episode of the new year, of the new decade! So we're talking about....well, we meant to talk about the shows we're watching but instead, we're talking about anything that pops into our heads, top songs of 2019, Stephanie needing to speak to someone's manager in order to get ATEEZ tickets, K-themed Christmas presents, and baby kittens. Yep, it's a tanget-y episode!

As the holidays pick up speed, it's time for another round of the bias vs bias in the Kpop Nerd Herd. Which means it's time to choose our 2019 Top 20 Bias Lists. Possibly. Stephanie was drinking preeeetty heavily during the making of this episode, so Cherry could have pulled an old switcheroo on her, and she'd never have noticed. Probably.

Collectively. Come on, the holidays are hard, you know you want a nice cuddle as we chat about all the dramas we're watching. It will be soothing and mildly inappropriate, exactly what you're hectic schedule needs. We're chatting dramas from all around Asia, an excellent Japanese series Erased, a not so excellent Japanese demon movie series, some Chinese dramas, including the adorable Put Your Head on My Shoulder, before hitting up Thailand and Taiwan for some good old fashioned BL. So relax, lean on our shoulders while we tell you a little story.

Multiple announcements from Netflix in the last few weeks proves that Netflix is making some long-term Kdrama commitments, and we couldn't be happier about it… though we wonder if this is an *exclusive* relationship. Moving on, we talk about Rebel Wilson and our issues with her looming Kpop movie, and then round it off with the exciting Love By Chance 2 announcement!

It's a very exciting What We're Watching as we've both managed to pick up more dramas! Find out what we've added and, in case of Stephanie, what she's dumping because, as Cherry says "Life is too short for hate-watching."

Since Stephanie continues to insist on watching all the dramas, it's time to see what other dramas are coming up and if there is anything else out there she needs to make space for. We're seeing fun things like Busted 2, Chocolate, Bon Voyage 4, Vacation in My Own Way (with Eric!), Love with Flaws, and more! We also take a moment to answer the age old question, who is your Kdrama actor bias?

We've been motivated to watch some dramas and now we're motivated to tell you about them! Thanks to BL and Bubbles: The Birthday Edition, Stephanie continues on her new trend of watching all the dramas in all the world simulcasting not one, two, three, but FOUR shows while Ms. Cherry continues her own journey through The Untamed. Which, turns out, you can watch on Netflix!

It's one of our favorite holidays! Ever wonder what Kstar you would go trick-or-treating with? Ponder what SM artist you'd tag along with to the SM halloween bash? Contemplate who would be the very best partner to run a haunted house with? Did you look at that rapidly dwindling candy bowl and wonder, just what idol reminds you of candy corn? We do, so we did! Who's ready to watch some dramas? Stephanie and Cherry! Who's ready to chat some dramas? Well, hopefully, Stephanie and Cherry! Sooooo many dramas including Lee Min Ki's The Lies Within, the terrible Love Sick sequel, the potentially awesome Love By Chance prequel, and the most delightful Korean vampire movie.

Continuing KChat's trend of checking in with upcoming dramas, this b-side we're talking casting news that excites us, really excites us, news that bums us out, Cherry tries to make a date with Leverage, and then we see if a quiz can really tell us how old we are by our Kpop choices.
