Tens of thousands of spectators lined State Street on Saturday to watch Santa Barbara’s Summer Solstice Parade. This year’s theme was “Unity.” KCSB’s Lisa Osborn has the story.

The UC Santa Barbara English department allows undergraduates to specialize in their majors. With seven specializations, students have an array of choices to focus their research interests on and work alongside faculty with projects. KCSB's Héctor Sánchez Castañeda spoke with Henry Bernard and Baily Rossi, undergraduate representatives for the Literature and the Mind specialization.

With emails as a norm of communication in both personal and professional circles, people spend more and more of their days sifting through their email accounts. Given the large amount of personal information going in and out, this makes emails a rewarding area for cybercriminals. UCSB students have learned this the hard way, with many becoming victims of what are called “phishing emails” being sent to their school email accounts. KCSB’s Hector Sanchez Castaneda recently received one of those emails. He talks with UCSB’s Technology Services’ Shea Lovan about what these emails are, and what to do if you fall victim to them.
