Know that it’s okay to outgrow certain people, places, things, and situations. It’s about to be 2025, so let’s really work on being better versions of ourselves!

In today’s society we see how negativity is normalized. Childhood issues and unhealed traumas will have us in this repetitive cycle. Because someone did it before you does not make it right. Some things are not normal and we must understand how past traumas can trigger and make abnormalities seem normal or common. Unfortunately, getting your head knocked between the washer and dryer is amusing. That is.. until it’s too late. It ain’t cute, nor is it funny, or normal. Let’s not normalize it!

Sis, it’s time for us to be a little more selfish! Society expects us to always clean up the mess. We’re expected to make sure everyone around us comes first, thus leaving us last to look after. Question is: who’s going to look out for us when we’ve devoted so much time into pouring into everyone else? We make sure everyone is good while our cup is next to empty. So who’s pouring into your cup? You can’t pour from an empty one, so ladies please be a little selfish! You matter. Your time matters. Your energy matters. Your wellbeing matters! Guys always do what’s best for them, and sometimes, no matter who it hurts or inconveniences, so it’s time we did the same!

Forgiveness is hard! 🗣️

What’s harder is forgiving someone who has never apologized. What we must remember is forgiveness is for us; not for the other person. You deserve to live in peace and not wait on the day someone will give you any inkling that they are remorseful or sorry. Acknowledge it, accept it, forgive them, and move on, just as they have! You can live in peace or pieces! What do you choose? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Life is not a fairytale. It’s very cliché, but it’s true. You must understand that even those you love have the ability to hurt you. If situations are fixable, we should work on fixing them. The reality is, “standing on business” will have a lot of us lonely forever. Just as God extends grace, mercy, and forgiveness, I believe we should do the same. I DO NOT mean staying in a place where you’re constantly being hurt. When the things they do speak towards their character vs. them making a genuine mistake, it might be time to move on!
