Forgiveness is hard! 🗣️

What’s harder is forgiving someone who has never apologized. What we must remember is forgiveness is for us; not for the other person. You deserve to live in peace and not wait on the day someone will give you any inkling that they are remorseful or sorry. Acknowledge it, accept it, forgive them, and move on, just as they have! You can live in peace or pieces! What do you choose? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Life is not a fairytale. It’s very cliché, but it’s true. You must understand that even those you love have the ability to hurt you. If situations are fixable, we should work on fixing them. The reality is, “standing on business” will have a lot of us lonely forever. Just as God extends grace, mercy, and forgiveness, I believe we should do the same. I DO NOT mean staying in a place where you’re constantly being hurt. When the things they do speak towards their character vs. them making a genuine mistake, it might be time to move on!

This week was very significant for me. For three years I’ve been single. God put me through this test, so I’d have a testimony. Well here I am to share it with you and to tell you how I got over! I’m here to let you know that it’s possible to overcome, no matter what’s thrown at you! I did NOT expect to get emotional for this episode, but I did. I was reminded of the pain I felt and how God kept me anyhow! 🙌🏾

Isn’t it funny how we think that love has to hurt in order for the commitment to be real? There will be tough times, but let’s be honest; any form of abuse or infidelity is not considered “up’s and downs”. A lot of it is manipulation, us accepting the bare minimum, not knowing our worth, having low self-esteem, and feeling that we must be in a relationship. At no point in your relationship should you accept any mistreatment simply for the sake of you being able to say you have a significant other!

Because you’ve forgiven someone doesn’t mean you must allow them in your life. However; you should love and give grace like the Bible says. But you must understand that some people are truly toxic, so you’ll find that in order for you to heal, they might not need access to you! As I’ve stated in a previous episode, sometimes it’s best to heal out of or away from the environment that hurt you!

Do you find it interesting how many people require things from others that they don’t have or possess themselves? No, just me? Well if you feel anything like me, I’d say that it’s very common, but insane to expect what you can’t provide. Some women have unrealistic “requirements”, while some men want a traditional woman when they are, in fact, not a traditional man.

Is it possible to heal from the same place that hurt you? Sometimes you may have to “move”, and not necessarily physically. However; in order to promote and encourage healing, you must create a safe space for yourself to begin the healing process.
