When we first started this podcast this was one of the stories we fantasized talking about. But don't let our excitement fool you, this is Tolkien's great tragedy, and it is probably the saddest story either of us have ever heard... We are VERY excited to bring to you our first episode pertaining to Tolkien's Three Great Tales of the Elder Days! This episode will focus on the first of the three tales, "Beren and Lúthien". This is not only one of the most magical and fantasy-like of Tolkien's tales, but it is also one of the oldest tales in Tolkien's Legendarium. We wanted to switch things up for episode 7. Rather then spewing a bunch of information at you, we wanted to have a relaxed open discussion with some friends about Tolkien's work, and what it means to us. Tune in as we nerd out with some friends of ours, Trever and Lauren!

For our 6th episode we thought it would be appropriate to touch on the different types of elves that exist in Tolkien's Legendarium. This episode may be the most dense with names and places, but also one of the most important for understanding all the different groups of elves we talk about. Tune in and nerd out with us as we talk about the origins and sundering of this incredibly important group of people!

For our 5th episode, and second character profile, we wanted to talk about one of the most important characters in all of Tolkien's work, Melkor (Morgoth). He is the origins of evil in the world of Arda, and almost all the events, from creation through the 1st Age, have to do with Melkor. Tune in, inform yourself, and nerd out with us!

For our 4th episode we thought it would be fun to do a kind of Character Profile on Sauron. Someone we think everyone knows, but might not know that much about. Tune in and nerd out with us as we go all the way back to creation itself as we review the life of The Dark Lord!

After 2 episodes of negativity we thought it would be refreshing to touch on what we actually LIKED about the Hobbit trilogy. We get so lost in the hate that we often forget there was SOME pretty cool stuff too. It is in Tolkien's universe after all. Listen in and nerd out with us!

While preparing for episode 2, we realized how many things we wanted to... critique, and became very frustrated. We should probably have sufficiently covered the topic in 1 episode, at least, as far as our audience is concerned. But we decided, eh, what the hell, LET'S MAKE IT 3 EPISODES! Because why the hell not, right Peter Jackson?
