The GRAMMYs got it wrong again and refuse to celebrate Queen Bey. They're primarily focused on rehabilitating whiteness in a way that feels good to them. A similar thing is going on with College Board and DeSantis' move to block some of this AP African American Literature course to make sure that it is palatable for him to participate in. I believe that we need to keep a vigilant eye on how culture and policy are working together.

"Y'all better come up here and get you one of these... A chicken salad." We all know that Nisha went viral for her Tik Tok and everyone wanted a piece of it - even Google. And they decided to pay her $500, which is wild. It made me think about Ma Rainey and how the music industry only wanted her voice... not her as a human. Both of these stories are connected and made me even think about my own worth as a Black content creator.
