Question – Would you want to drink something described by a critic this way: Dirty smelling and grubby, with fishy oiliness and pure chlorine. Has a salty, oily sootiness to it, too. Smokey and tarry. And finishes with a delayed blast of peat moss?

When I looked for trends that stood out in this generation, what immediately became clear is a surprising decline in mental stability and lots of causes for it.

I have some questions: When did we begin ignoring the content of a person’s character so long as that person was helping advance our agenda? Has this been going on forever? And if this behavior disgusts me, should I just suck it up and stay quiet?

Earlier this afternoon when I arrived, the cab driver told me that the temperature was seven degrees and had been warming since this morning when it was four. Yes, empirically, this is considered warming. But, in the grand scheme of things, this is still horror.

I don’t know how they do it, but these coupon shoppers seem to coin their own money. They find deals and save money in ways that us normal folk can’t comprehend.  Working together, they could balance the federal budget. Or pay for a wall on the Mexican border and another one on the Canadian border. Why not? Or how about our next mission to the moon?

As adults, we carefully court new friends. We try to learn a bit about them prior to spending time with them. And when do spend time together, we carefully dance around each other, hoping to not offend, hoping to tell the right story or, more likely, to not tell the wrong story.

The work that I do requires me to travel a pretty good bit. I remember as a much younger man thinking how cool it would be to get on a plane and see the different corners of this country and have a client help pay for it all.

I sat at dinner at a corporate event a few weeks back and wondered if the conversation could get any stranger. I had suggested that the Yeti Cooler Company start making caskets.

My wife and I take long walks occasionally when the weather is right and we have the time. We usually talk a great deal on these walks but last Sunday she stayed quiet, so I tried to stir her up.

This time of year puts all my worlds in a tizzy. My worlds are either spinning out of control or they’re colliding. I’m doing my best to keep it together, but everything is full blast now. And has been so for a few weeks and it appears I have a few weeks more.
