Diabetes technology is powerful. Insulin pumps, CGM's and now automode features on almost every system has made blood sugar management more convenient than ever. But what happens when we start to use the technology as a crutch?
Meet Christine Heusser, Keeping it 100 graduate and type one diabetic of 22 years. After years of being on an insulin pump, Christine realized not only were her behaviors not supporting her blood sugars, but her baselines were completely off, which was being covered up by the Control IQ feature. Not only did this leave her feeling burnt out and hands off in her control, but reactive in her management.
Join us in today's conversation where we discuss the beauty of technology advancement, the flaws and everything in between.
