Takennya Daniels a former foster youth, grew up angry because she felt lonely without her family. She served in the military for 13 years and has earned two Master’s degrees while finding a way to cope with her anger and mental health issues. Takennya expressed how Roller Skating helps her manage her anger. She a single mom with four children and continues to thrive for the better!

Guest speaker, Shaniqua shares her experience growing up in Sullivan’s group home in San Diego, California. She talks about her emotional struggles and how she overcame them. She created a business called “Sistas Helpers,” how she offers free clothing, meals and provides resource to the homeless population.

Guest speaker Shonda grew up in the foster care system most of her life. She got pregnant at 18 and was blessed with a baby girl. Shortly after she started selling drugs and went to prison. Her daughter was taken from her by the father side of the family and refused to let Shonda see her. Years later Shonda was able to find her Daughter through social media.
