This episode is about celebrating Canada Day as we have since 1867 and how we are now starting to include and honour the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples. Many communities are reimagining Canada Day celebrations to recognize Indigenous Peoples, as the country continues to reckon with its legacy following the discovery of possible unmarked graves at former residential schools.

Many Canadians will be wearing the traditional colours of red and white and waving Canada Flags, whereas others will be wearing the colour orange as they are now seeing the national holiday as an opportunity for sombre reflection. Fellow Canadians are also invited to wear orange. and to take positive action as part of Truth and Reconciliation.
