The Saints are now in a full rebuild as Derek Carr announces he will retire. The move is a major opportunity for the franchise as it allows for the salary cap to be cleared for future moves speeding up the Kellen Moore rebuild. Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler are now in a quarterback battle that could go all the way up to week one.
If the Saints first round selection wasn't enough to get the fanbase talking taking Tyler Shough at 40 was all it would take. The confidence gained will play a big factor as the Saints prepare for Dallas on Sunday. With a rise in quality of competition the big numbers put up against Carolina could be the baseline to fine the reality of where this team is.

Dennis Allen would keep to his word by having his ones stay on the field for three series. This would however prove mildly fruitful with one Taysom Hill touchdown providing the Saints only touch down. What resulted from that point would only continue to bring questions into position battles as the Saints are heading back to Louisiana to close the preseason.
