Keith Higgins on Mayo's fear of winning, Dublin battles and his love of hurling | The Square Ball Ep3

Listen Later

In this week's The Square Ball, Lee Keegan and Dave McIntyre are joined by Mayo legend and four-time All Star, Keith Higgins.

Keith joined Lee and Dave in studio to talk about some of the biggest moments in his career filled with incredible highs and crushing lows, as well as his love of hurling and the joy he got playing it with his brother.

In an extended interview, Keith revealed the origins of his nickname 'Zippy' (4:30), his first All Ireland Final loss in 2006 (13:00), how a mostly forgotten match in London was a turning point for Mayo (22:30), his battle with James O'Donoghue that still annoys him (36:00), player power (55:00), his love of hurling (1.12:00), and the sad passing of his brother, Pearce (1.19:00).

The Square Ball is a new weekly show, powered by William Hill.
