Is there a sweet spot in terms of an age gap for spouses? Kelli found a recent study that suggested that couples who are 1 year apart in age are more likely to have a successful marriage. The study also suggested that the farther apart the age gap, the higher the chances of divorce. 

So Kelli decided to do her own research and see how true this was. Take a listen to the age gaps in some marriage and how they worked out. 

Kelli's change oil light came on in her car this morning and it made her think, that's a basic skill that she has no idea how to do. So it inspired this morning's conversation about basic skills that people don't know how to do. 

Turns out that cars are a main point of confusion, everything from oil changes to opening the trunk and even putting in the right gas! Take a listen to some basic skills that people don't know how to do and see which ones really cost them. 

Today's DM Dilemma had a guy, "Chris", explaining that the girl he's dating is upset, because he's leaving to go on vacation this weekend without her. In his defense, he said he brought it up to her and she mentioned that it seemed expensive. now that he's getting ready to leave, she's upset. He's looking for advice on how to make things right. Take a listen to the advice he got and even some advice for the girl he's dating. 

Baseball season just ended for Kelli's oldest son and she shared that during the season she heard all kinds of bribes coming from the parents. One even backfired, so the parents now owe their little slugger WWE tickets. 

Turns out that sports and school were a big part of bribes that backfired. Everything from big stacks of cash to a corvette! Take a listen. 

A local college, Cal State Long Beach, recently went viral for their shortened graduation ceremony. Recent graduate Jordan Glickman joined Kelli to talk about his experience at during the ceremony and why he feels the graduates got robbed from their moment to celebrate their accomplishment. 

With the new shorter format graduates do not walk across the the stage to receive their diploma. Glickman told Kelli that the entire ceremony was around 45 minutes long. Many people seemed to agree with Glickman that he and the other graduates should have had their moment to celebrate their success, but other felt that the shorter ceremony was more efficient. Take a listen and see which way you lean. 

Colt Ford is ready to party this weekend at the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival. He'll be taking the Wine stage Friday night and he says it's going to be a party. 

Contrary to what people think, Colt revealed that he's not much of a drinker, despite his numerous songs about drinking.  He also talked about his professional golf career which might surprise people. In doing so, he revealed that he hasn't golfed in a while due to an auto immune disease that he's currently battling. 

Dating a friend's ex is like the first commandment of "Bro Code" or "Girl Code", but is there ever a time when it's ok? Based on the stories Kelli received this morning, it happens and it happens a lot. Some turn out to be love stories and some are further proof why they were someone's ex in the first place. 

We're only weeks away from summer, so now's your last chance to get that spring cleaning in. Kelli found a list of common items that people either need to get rid of or replace. She was guilty of possessing a few. Take a listen to the items that people know they should get rid of, but haven't yet. Anything you're holding on to for way too long?

Lady A's Charles Kelley is now 9 months sober after opening up about his struggles with alcohol abuse in August 2022.

The 41-year-old recently sat down with Kelli of KFRG’s The Wake Up Call and shared more about what his current relationship looks like with alcohol and the journey he’s been on to get there.

“There is nothin’ wrong with drinkin’,” Charles said when asked about his sobriety. “I wish I could still do it, I’m just one of those people that can’t — If I have one, I want to have ten.”

He continued, “It got where it wasn’t fun anymore and I think, for me… I remember being around sober people and I was just like, ‘I don’t get it. Just tell yourself to slow down.’ But eventually, you get to this point where you really can’t. And I think it was just an opportunity to share, ‘Hey, i’s OK to admit this thing isn’t working for you anymore. There’s no weakness in it.’”

Kelley says the key to his success has been his family along with friends who allow him to still have fun while offering encouragement along the way. He hopes his experience will prompt others to get the help they need with no shame tor guilt.

“It’s definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but the best thing I’ve ever done,” he said. “Part of this whole journey for me is to be more honest. I don’t think I wanted to be any kind of poster child for it — a bunch of my friends still drink and we have a great time and I’m just the guy that doesn’t drink and no body even really talks about it. We don’t have to talk about it like that. It’s just like… you get a lot of encouragement like, ‘Hey man, I’m proud of ya,’ so it feels like I’m on a good little track here and that was the biggest thing for me. Just sharing, ‘Hey man, if you’re going through it too, you can get through it and there’s actually a really fun life ahead.
