That one time my boobs turned on me…
Don’t be mistaken, this is not just about my boobs, it’s about running, but I will tell you about that one time I was borderline septic because my boobs had an infection.
I will regale you with my own running stories, my comebacks, my down times and my good times.
I hope you enjoy!!

In this episode I talk to my friend Sharnelle Harris (formerly Cole). Shar refutes the term hero, even though she has earned herself a bravery award, one of the highest honours any police officer can receive. She prefers to think of the police and ambos who came to her and her two partner’s aid as the heroes.
In the early hours of 1 May 2000, Sharnelle, Daryl Green and Chris Mulhall were shot whilst attending a neighbourhood dispute. Despite being shot 8 times Sharnelle managed to call for back up and send a beacon to the other frantic police trying to find their comrades in the dark.
Sharnelle is no victim, she is a stubborn human who refused to do anything but thrive in this life. She is honest and caring and can still pull fun of herself when talking about what is arguably one of the toughest ordeals anyone could endure and the stuff that police officer’s nightmares are made of.
***Trigger warning, the audio of Sharnelle calling for help on the radio has brought me to tears, her pure terror is palatable, and it will grind you to the core of your being. The melee in the aftermath is also contained in this audio and it’s hard to listen to. I have not included it in the podcast episode, you can find it at the link here, it goes for 6 minutes. https://youtu.be/ecKKMsfBzyM

In this episode I was pretty keen to talk with my daughter Savanah. She was a bit tired and distracted, so the first part of the poddy was like pulling teeth. She was looking for any opportunity to not be there! Second part of the podcast I started going down a road that I wasn't prepared for. I wanted to talk about my sister's 4 kids that I raised, next minute I am vulnerable as fuck and bloody crying. In this episode you will hear more of me than I usually put on show. I am a bit scared to put this out there. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me! Anyway I have coined a phrase thanks to my friend Bek; "Spiteful Ambition", it's my new favourite phrase.
I hope you enjoy.

Marney is a softly spoken country gal from Dayboro. But don’t let her soft demeanour fool you, she is one tough cookie.
Marney met her perfect match husband in 1996 when she was 18 and they formed a life long partnership, raising two children together.
In 2019 Marney’s world as she knew it stopped, then it played out in slow motion. The longest and craziest journey of her life. A journey that taught her so much. To live, to love and to never give up.
Marney had a stroke, as luck would have it whilst she was training with her best friend and PT; Lisa Marshall. If she had been home alone she would have more than likely died or not received help in record time.
As Marney was reminded by a doctor; a stroke is always a medical emergency, there is no such thing as a minor stroke, a stroke is a stroke.
Sit back and enjoy this lovely and at times heart wrenching story.
Marney’s business page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/featherclinic/

The Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke. Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking these simple questions:
Face Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?
Arms Can they lift both arms?
Speech Is their speech slurred?
Do they understand you?
Time Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 straight away.

In this episode I talk to my brand new friend Tiana King. Tiana and I met as cast members on location for the filming of Adventure All Stars.
Tiana was quiet when I first met her, shy and appeared naive, by the end of one week’s filming she was gregarious, funny, engaging, self deprecating and witty.
At 28 years old, this week she “celebrates” her 27 year burniversary.
As she says; “people celebrate birthdays & anniversary’s everyday but today I get to celebrate something special to me. I’m 28 years old but my life really started 27 years ago today, yes it’s my BURNIVERSARY.
27 years ago I was just a baby peacefully sleeping until the night light next to my cot became faulty and started a fire in my bedroom, my whole room went up in flames instantly and by the time my mum found me I was crawling along the floor in flames.. my injuries were so bad I had to be flown to Sydney bc the hospital wasn’t qualified for such a big burn as I was 60% burned later to be 69%.
Why would I celebrate something so horrible you may ask??
My whole life I’ve let these scars own me, I’ve walked all over myself and gave myself a living hell for majority of my life.. I still do but I’m better at realising and snapping myself out of it. My whole life I’ve had people point and laugh, bully and a lot of emotional & physical abuse to the point one day I was cornered in the school bathroom just because I walked differently. I’ve spent my whole life in and out of hospital, still going as a matter of fact.. the hospital trips will never ever end for me like it’s literally a home away from home.
I celebrate today as if it was my birthday because it was the day my life started and my fight to stay alive begun. I celebrate it because all my hard work to be where I am today deserves recognition. I’m super proud for all the things I’ve overcome and still over coming.
I’ve learned to love who I am, I have bad days but most days it’s self love that I practice on myself.
If you’re on a similar journey, you fucking got this, you’re gonna struggle and you’re gonna cry but my god you’re a superstar.
Happy Burniversary to me.”

This episode is something a little bit different. It's a mish-mash of one week's worth of audio files, kind of like a captain's log, with no star date (Star Trek reference).
This episode captures the adventures Savanah (my daughter) and I experienced whilst cast members for the Tv Show - Adventure All Stars.
Savanah and I rasied money for our charity RizeUp Australia (DV charity) and as a reward we were taken on a mystery adventure holiday. Our destination and the activities were a surprise right til the last minute.
We did some amazing activities on the Fraser Coast, from helicopter riding, to kayaking, to water skiing, to stand up paddle boarding, but the real surprise was the friendships we made and the inspiration we got from our fellow cast members.
Our fundraising page is still open if you would like to contribute to RizeUp Australia. https://rizeupfundraiser.raisely.com/kelly-pink
Thank you to Charity TV Global and Adventure All Stars for this wonderful opportunity to raise money and awareness for RizeUp and to be part of something so very big!

My oldest and dearest friend Vera joins me in this episode. With no real plan, we just thought we would let the conversation go where it may and it went many places.
From death, to taxes, to penny rugs, to following your passion in life to menopause. We covered some ground.
Vera is one of those unassuming people who doesn't talk herself up, even though she is quite a brilliant artist and one the most smart people I know.
Vera has her own Etsy store where she sells her handmade penny rugs and other folk art type of things. https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/VeraCraftArt

In this epidode I talk to my friend Bobby Crawford. I met Bob when he was Police Officer. Bob has always been more serious than me but I did manage to get him to crack a smile and laugh.
Now living in Indonesia with his super-awesome girlfriend; Bob has had an interesting career since leaving the Queensland Police in 2007 having worked in Baghdad, Iraq, the Congo and some other sketchy African countries.
We talk about Bob's boxing life and most importantly how he navigated the world as the Tinder King before settling down.
Bob managed to turn the tide and start interviewing me, I guess you can take the boy out of the coppers, but not the coppers out of the boy!
I really enjoyed this chat with the 6'4" softy.

In this episode I talk to my old mate (who is actually my new mate) Lisa Marshall. Lisa lives in my hometown of Dayboro and is a personal trainer and nutrition coach.
Lisa grew up with chronic asthma and got into swimming at a young age to help with her lung capacity. She is a black belt in karate, a mum to two awesome adults, a fur mama to dogs, cats and horses, a wife to a handsome young fellow (I had to say that because I accidentally called him old one day) and all-round decent chick who doesn’t mind a bit of a curse.
At one point in Lisa's life she was unfit, extremely, as she would say, put on 20kg with her first pregnancy and found herself in the depths of post-natal depression for many years to come.
Lisa has struggled with other people’s expectations of how a PT “should” look, but now she is 50 and fabulous she has buggared off those shackles and the weight of other’s opinions.
This chat took a turn I wasn’t expecting and it was enlightening, heartening, raw and real. I love my friend a little bit more after this chat.
After 372 false starts, we finally got there, so the introduction is lack lustre to say the least. My whiz-bang microphone picked up the chirping birdies from her outdoor area perfectly, it also picked up the wind blowing through and I discovered that Garage Band on my phone could not record past a certain point (must have been my settings) so it finishes rather abruptly.
Thanks Kayleen Sheppard photographer for the photo of Lisa.

In this episode I have a good old chin wag with my favourite blonde haired blue eyed guy, my son Rylan James Gurski.
Rylan struggled when he was a little boy with a speech and language disorder and mild intellectual impairment. He is now nearly 21 and he regales us in this episode with his recent SS Commodore car purchase, much to my chagrin. He also talks about the job he loves, his modelling career and who his inspiration is.
I am not so good at editing, so the vacuum cleaner trip and the dog not going outside on command are contained for your entertainment.
