After 36 years, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks President Chris McCarthy announced that the network will be shutting down MTV News. As a media source where many Gen-X and Millennials consumed entertainment and political coverage, it marks end of an era for many Americans.

Kennedy shares that while she is sad to see the network come to an end, she is not surprised. She reminds listeners that 25% of Paramount Global's employees were laid off and explains that MTV unfortunately does not have a generation anymore, because the entertainment that binds people together generationally are now located in the palm of their hands.
