You may know him from SLC Punk, but this one is whole different world with a lot of that specific brand of "90s indie weirdness" that defines the era.

Helping us navigate the movie’s frantic paranoid energy, we’re cracking open a heavy hitter in Double Dog Double IPA by Flying Dog Brewery. With its aggressive hop profile and massive citrus flavor it is surprisingly smooth, with a strong boozy finish. It’s the perfect companion for a film that pushes you to the edge of sanity.

At ease, recruits! This week, we headed to the front lines of 90s slapstick. We revisited the 1994 comedy In The Army Now, starring Pauly Shore and Andy Dick as two slackers who join the Army Reserves. Does the humor hold up under fire, or should this one have stayed in the barracks?

To help us navigate the desert heat, we’re cracking open a Voodoo Ranger Juice Force IPA. This Hazy Imperial IPA by New Belgium Brewing is a citrus-forward explosion of hops that packs a punch. This beer’s tropical sweetness is the perfect contrast to the dry, sandy humor of the Weasel.

It also happens to be Kane Hodder's entrance into the franchise as Jason Voorhees.And if you’re going to deal with a telekinetic teenager fighting a zombie in a hockey mask, you’re going to need a stiff drink. We found the perfect thing in Friend of the Devil, a powerful Belgian Tripel by our local brewery Sawstone Brewing Co. The boys are back... in Wabasha! That's right we revisited the 1995 sequel, Grumpier Old Men. We're talking Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau and their return as elderly frenemies, Max and John. This time their feud takes a backseat (sort of) when a new Italian restaurant threatens their beloved bait shop and brings another new woman to town.

And to celebrate these two stubborn legends, it felt only appropriate to once again crack open a beer that feels like it was brewed specifically for these movies, Old and In the Way by our local brewery Sawstone Brewing Co. This beer is light and crisp and the perfect companion for a day battling it out over the ever elusive Catfish Hunter.
