In this episode of Kerah Speaks: The Calling Series, I sit down with recording artist Mystori for a conversation about faith, music, surrender, refinement, and the story behind her new single, “FIRE.”

Mystori opens up about creating music that reflects her relationship with God while developing a sound that doesn't necessarily fit into the traditional gospel box. We talk about what it means for music to become ministry, how her faith influences her artistry, and the inspiration behind some of the most powerful lyrics in FIRE.

One lyric in particular became the heart of our conversation:

“The old you has got to die.”

We explore what it means to be refined, the things we can unknowingly turn into idols, and whether becoming who God has called us to be sometimes requires us to surrender versions of ourselves that can no longer go with us.

Because sometimes the calling isn't only about what you're becoming.

It's also about what you're willing to leave behind.
