Keystone Copycats with Chris & Zach episodes

  • Episode 303 - Freaky
Episode 303: Freaky Hello there! I see you've managed to find our quiet little hideaway that we like to call Keystone Copycats With Chris and Zach. It's less of a hideaway and more of a podcast about movies that boasted a unique premise only to have their creativity jacked over and over again by the rest of Hollywood. This Wednesday, I hope your K-Mart brand internet is keeping you connected so you can listen in as our boyish hosty-boys get particularly freaky by discussing the 2020 slasher comedy film Freaky, directed by Christopher Landon and starring Vince Vaughn. Using the freaksimiles established in episode one of this season, they will decide what percentage Freaky Friday this film is. Here, have this cryptic riddle before you go: What do Fat Tony and Tom Hanks have in common? They both fornicate with fish. Much love, as always.

  • Episode 302 - The Change Up

    Episode 302 The Change Up

Welcome back to Keystone Copycats With Chris and Zach. Since the network execs haven’t pulled the trigger on canceling us just yet, how about we treat you lovely, loyal listeners with a little something I like to call: episode 2 of season 3. Sound good to you? You’re a little bit interested, you say? Well let me tell you a little more, I respond. Today, our hosts Chris and Zach (also known as Zach and Chris) review the 2011 comedy film-that-I’ve-never-heard-of “The Change-Up” starring Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds (known for “Teen Wolf Too” and an episode of “The X Files”, respectively). I can tell by the look in your eyes that you’re on board now. Excellent. Unfortunately, this movie does two things wrong: it sucks AND it has nothing to do with baseball. But, our humble hosts do two things right: they use Freaksimiles established in the first episode of this season to decide how “Freaky” this movie is AND they keep us all entertained in the process. So grab your peppermint conditioner and your baby gate and let’s catch us some chickens.

  • Episode 301 -Freaky Friday

    Episode 301 Freaky Friday

Welcome back to Keystone Copycats With Chris and Zach! Once again we are saddled with another between season (*cough* filler *cough*) episode, so I guess just- wait, what? The hosts just passed me a note...oh! Today is not another filler episode; it's actually the premiere episode of season 3! Our valiant and soon to be cancelled hosts decided to dedicate this season to the 1976 film Freaky Friday, starring a 14-year-old Jodie Foster. In this episode, our hosts establish the tropes (or Freaksimiles) by which every other film this season will be judged in order to decide how much of a keystone film this bad sitcom episode disguised as a real movie actually is. You can watch along at home, or just watch one of the following films that Chris and Zach would rather have enjoyed in its place:
The Godfather, Contact, Panic Room, Basketball Diaries, Schindler's List, and Jack and Jill. See you next Freaky Wednesday.

  • Episode 215 - Babe Vs Gordy (Featuring Mark Borison)

    Episode 215: Babe vs. Gordy

No this isn't an old reused animation loop from the early 20th century (not that we don't appreciate the compliment)...it's another between season episode of Keystone Copycats With Chris and Zach! Here at KCWCZ, we ask the listeners (you!) the hard questions, such as: will a salesperson close more deals if they fake an injury? Did Johnny Rockets have shoestring fries? Is it a good idea to go 50/50 on a burger restaurant franchise with Chris? What about 50/50 with Zach after he has already gone 50/50 with Chris? Was 50/50 worth watching, or is Cancer not that funny? Oh, also, which movie about a pig is better, Babe or Gordy? I am afraid the answers to all of these questions is beyond me...so thank god our hosts are joined by Cincinnati hero Mark Borison- host of Jungle Jims Podcast. Maybe Mark knows the answers! Either way, hop on in this van, little doggy, so that my other dog can escape with you.

  • Episode 214 - Kick-Ass v Super (featuring Nicole Dambro)
Hey! What is that hiding beneath that Basset Hound over there? Is it Kick-Ass and Super? Oh, I see now. They are quite literally underdog films! Plus, they are the topics of this episode! Sorry and welcome back to Keystone Copycats With Chris and Zach! The only podcast currently offering 30% laser hair removal for all podiatrists, dentists, pedicurists, energy vampires, or dudes who are into feet. Speaking of none of those identifiers, our hosts are joined today by none other than Nicole Dambro from the podcast Girls With Guts, which is hosted by two women who live with chronic illness and discuss navigating that reality with each other as well as with interesting guests. Check Girls With Guts out every Tuesday, and check out the fun topics discussed on today's episode of Keystone Copycats: breaking into handsome, mostly naked guys' apartments (sober or not), crankin off to Armageddon, chili and cinnamon and heroin, choosing between a sword, a wrench, and weaponized pity, Adam West by way of Nicolas Cage, and Batman's donut gun. Stay vigilant out there, heroes.

  • Episode 212 - Beauty and the Beast
Hey all you reading women and furry 11-year-olds! Do you know what a podcast is? I cannot hear your answer because that's not how this works, but I will proceed as though every last one of you replied, "yes I do, and Keystone Copycats is the best one I've ever heard." In this between season episode, the hosts at large continue their appraisal of the Disney Animation Renaissance films by discussing the 1991 romantic musical Beauty and the Beast. Talking points include: Zach's successful campaign for president back in 2020, the futility of feudality, naming your kids based on their attractiveness, making out vs. making off, the effect a witch's curse has on the egg econony, the danger of bookish women, and that time Ted Kennedy killed Matthew Broderick. Next week's episode is going to be rather tasty, so make sure you join us again. Bye!
