  • Introducing Jamie-Lee Sexton on the Kfm Top 40

Introducing Jamie-Lee Sexton: a Jo’burg based artist, leader of the band, The Sextons, who has been making waves up north as soloist for some time. Her name also may sound familiar to longtime fans of Idols SA, as she placed in the top 8 of season 6 of the reality TV show.

But now it’s time for the Western Cape to meet her - on the province's biggest radio station, on SA's most popular chart show.

Following the release of new single 'It’s True’ on Friday, 30 April 2021, Carl Wastie gave Jamie-Lee Sexton a call the following day (Saturday, 1 May 2021) on the multiple award-winning Kfm Top 40 to intro her to Kfm 94.5 and to give her new track, which pays homage to the 80s, a spin.

'It's True', produced by SA pop icon, Daniel Baron, is the first single from her upcoming EP, 'Medicine Woman', which will be released later this year.

  • BLINDSIDED! Mikhaela Faye get surprised with news that she's charting

The Kfm Top 40 with Carl Wastie has become synonymous with epic blindsides when your  favourite local artists make it onto the chart - as Carl and the team come up with different scenarios to share the news.

Saturday, 1 May 2021 was no different, as Mikhaela Faye was briefed that another artist had dropped the multiple award-winning chart show on Kfm 94.5 - and that we hoped she could help us fill the gap as an additional promo for her new single 'Love On Repeat'. What she didn't know was that artist that dropped the show was fictional and Carl Wastie was calling to tell her that 'Love On Repeat' had entered the chart: debuting at no.30.

  • Chad Saaiman still making good music

Contrary to belief, even though he's a radio presenter (on another radio station), Chad Saaiman is still making the good music we've come to love from him.

After a number of radio stations have turned their back on this legendary Cape Town artist, Carl Wastie wanted to make sure Chad Saaiman knew that at Kfm 94.5 we're all about celebrating the music and aren't concerned about his other gig. After all, our promise is "Most Music. Feel Great".

Naturally, following the release of Chad's single, '5 A.M.', he joined Carl on the award-winning Kfm Top 40 to discuss the new single, as well as to showcase the Kfm 94.5 love for great music and great artists, just like Chad Saaiman.
