  • Black Coffee inspires on the Kfm Top 40

There's no doubt that Black Coffee is one of South Africa's biggest exports - creating quality beats, impactful collabs, and jams that give us life.

Following the big announcement that his latest album, ‘Subconsciously’, garnered more than 100 million streams before its full release, Carl Wastie connected with the mega-DJ to congratulate him, look back at his career thus far, and get the 411 on what's still to come.

Black Coffee exuded inspiration as he spoke about mindset, South African talent across the board, and his next goals.

As a mega-DJ of Black Coffee's level, it's to be expected that he rubs shoulders with some big names - but nothing could prepare us for some of the names that were casually dropped, as the South African star made his debut interview appearance on the multiple award-winning Kfm Top 40 with Carl Wastie.

With 9 of the 12 tracks on ‘Subconsciously’ officially out on Apple iTunes - 5 February 2021 is the date we'll be counting down for, as that is when the album - and the song 'Flava', which Black Coffee says is his favourite on the album - will be released.

The last song on the album, ‘Never Gonna Forget’, featuring American DJ Diplo and musician, Elderbrook, is already a hit among fans, including captain Siya Kolisi and his wife, who we've enjoyed watching dance to the track on Instagram. But it's also a favourite of Kfm 94.5 listeners, as on Saturday, 23 January 2021, it officially entered the Kfm Top 40 with Carl Wastie as a hot shot new entry at no.13 - a special surprise that Black Coffee was thrilled about.
