Last year, frontman for The Kiffness, David Scott, took some time off with his wife to see Europe snd managed to make some music during the trip, which has manifested itself in a new EP he's released as a solo project, 'Departures'.

The EP was named 'Departures', not only because he wrote a lot of it in departure lounges during his Euro trip, but also because it signifies a departure from his 20s & an arrival into a new and exciting phase in his life.

South African singer/songwriter Rowlene is about to touch hearts this summer with her new single ‘Curtain Call’, which was released on Friday (13 Sep 2019) by Nasty C’s Tall Racks Records.

On the record, Rowlene elaborates about her past experiences and embraces freedom as she grows on her personal journey.

The song sees Rowlene’s vocals soaring in a new pop direction as she educates us more about how she is learning to let go of her past and is ready to live her life with no regret.

Following their performance at Huawei Jo’burg Day, hosted  by our sister station, 947 at Crocodile Creek in Lanseria – Carl Wastie called up Kosta, one half of Crazy White Boy, about their latest single, on the Coca-Cola Top40SA this past Saturday, 7 September 2019.

On Saturday, 7 September 2019, Carl Wastie caught up with Goodluck frontwoman, Julz Harding, about their brand new single, 'Dear Future Me', ahead of their performance at Huawei Jo’burg Day, hosted  by our sister station, 947 at Crocodile Creek in Lanseria.

After a busy Eurotrip with international producers, writers and incredible talent; 'Dear Future Me' is their follow up release to ‘Be Yourself’.

The song is an exciting collaboration with Netherlands-based musician, Jonas Kroeper.

The lyrics in ‘Dear Future Me’ have been crafted to remind us just how disconnected we have become from one another. How frantic our lives are, and just how little time we give to being present with each other and perhaps most importantly, ourselves.

On Saturday, 10 August 2019, following Women's Day, Carl Wastie called Goodluck frontwoman, Julz Harding, just before their song with DJ Ganyani, 'Waiting for You' charted on the show at no.27.

Julz - who was in the Netherlands with the band, wrapping up their European Tour - spoke about women in the music industry, empowering female musicians, and offered up some sound advise to young women looking at getting into the music industry.

2019 has been an epic year for Italian DJ trio, Meduza, who’s club banger, ‘Piece Of Your Heart’, which features vocals from UK group, Goodboys, has done exceedingly well – charting on EDM and radio charts across the globe, including on the Coca-Cola Top40SA with Carl Wastie, where it peaked at no.3.

Anica Kiana has new music out!

The 19 year old Milnerton local – who’s former school is a 3-time winner of High School Jam – released her new single, ‘Talk’ on Friday, 2 August 2019 - and joined Carl Wastie for an exclusive interview on the Coca-Cola Top40SA on Saturday, 3 August 2019.

'Talk' is the follow-up single to Anica's debut single, 'Chasing', which charted in at no.27 on Saturday. 

Support from her local community has been one of the things that has set Anica a part from many other up and coming musicians. In June, her following secured her an interview on the chart show - and the very next week, 'Chasing' made its charting debut (15 June 2019).

Nothing's changed as far as Anica's loyal fans go - with hundreds messaging to show their support for the young musician, while she chatted to Carl on 3 August - and it seems there's no slowing down this budding star.
