Shota has certainly stayed true to his music inventive from the days of Shana. Shota shook the music scene with his solo album ‘Afro-Rawmantic’ in 2011 and immediately took the dancefloors over by storm. ‘Afro-Rawmantic’ boasts hits like ‘Sengikhathele’ ft. Euphonik, ‘Abantu Bami’ ft. Professor, ‘Etshwaleni’ and the list goes on. In 2015 he released a dance album produced by top local and International producers including the well renowned Timmy Regisford, who is simply put out, as one of the great legends of dance music. Timmy Regisford is known for his brand of soulful house music sound that has shaped the face of house music today.

The album was produced by Timmy Regisford, Adam Rios, Disciples of House, DJ Mizz, Trademark and many more, fused with Shota’s sensual tone and lyrics that speak directly to the heart which he is well known for, and international beats which make a well rounded Soulful house album for lovers of quality house music. The full album was released in USA, Japan, Korea, China, Europe and Africa, followed by a tour in the UK. Mnqobi Mdabe known simply as Shota was born and raised in Kwazulu-Natal, Ntuzuma (Location). He realized at a very young age that he had been bitten by the music bug and not only did he want to share his God given talent with others, but he also wanted to create a long lasting legacy for artists. After COMPLETING HIGH School, he went on to study for a Diploma in LIGHT Music at the then Natal Technikon alongside long time friend Nkosinathi Maphumulo now known as ‘Dj Black Coffee’.
