  • KHOL - Environmental Artist Buster Simpson Takes on Jackson Hole (Full Interview)
    Buster Simpson is one of the nation’s foremost environmental artists. He has more than 40 permanently sited commissions to his credit across the U.S. and Canada, and projects continually underway. We asked him to define public art, what it was like to make an installation for Woodstock in 1969, and what he means by "poetic utility". He has been selected to build a Wildlife Viewing Platform near the Visitors Center to delineate the gateway to the National Parks. Currently, he's gathering inspiration for the piece by getting to know the poetry of place in Jackson Hole.

    The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company returns to Jackson Hole for the second in a trilogy of dances, co-commissioned by Dancers’ Workshop.   • KHOL - Start-Up Graduate Talks "Treetop Adventures"
    When visiting Zermatt, Switzerland, Sue Muncaster and her husband encountered a Treetop Adventure course and wondered if something like that might work in Jackson Hole. To put the plan in motion, Sue signed up for the Start-Up Intensive, an entrepreneurship program to help jump start aspiring entrepreneurs and to encourage Wyoming’s economic growth and diversification. Offered by Central Wyoming College and Silicon Couloir, the intensive is now accepting applications for their Fall 2016 session.

  • KHOL - Lunch for Literacy Aids Achievement Gap in JH
    Children not proficient in reading by third grade are 4x less likely to graduate high school. In Jackson, that's 37% of 3rd graders. We talked with Teton Literacy Center's Executive Director Laura West Soltau about the achievement gap and how their programs address it.
    The Rotary Club hosts the 21st Annual "Lunch for Literacy" today at noon at the Virginian Lodge to support Teton Literacy Center's programs for preschool to high school aged students and their families here in Jackson Hole.

  • KHOL - Town Council Considers District 2 Rezoning
    The Town council meets tonight at 6pm to discuss plans to rezone District 2 in downtown Jackson, which could be a contentious order of business. The revision of District 2 would limit commercial and lodging development in hopes of encouraging private residential development.
    We also touched on two Housing Authority Properties being considered for sale at the Joint Information Meeting being held at 3pm today.
