  • S3 Ep 7: She Was in Pain, Couldn't Move, and Then a Snake Showed Up and Changed Everything

Kathleen Underwood joined me for one of the most honest conversations we've had on this show. We talked about living with chronic pain since childhood, how it shapes romantic relationships in ways nobody prepares you for, and the quiet devastation of self-abandonment that can happen when you're just trying to get through the day. And then Kathleen told me about the day she was at her lowest, got herself up anyway, went to the park with her dog, ended up on a trail — and a very large snake crossed her path at exactly the right moment.

About Kathleen Underwood:Kathleen is a motivational speaker who helps people reclaim autonomy over their health by pairing mindset tools and nervous system care with daily spiritual practice. She teaches simple ways to pray, ask for guidance, and listen to inner wisdom, so people feel supported, protected, and loved as they take consistent action toward real change. Her core message is that your life has limitless potential, and with the right tools and spiritual guidance, that change becomes safe, sustainable, and deeply empowered.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

Kathleen knew everything about the brain and pain. She had all the information. And she still felt terrible. But she got up anyway. She went outside anyway. She walked anyway. And the state she was in shifted, not because the pain disappeared, but because she chose to focus differently. A snake crossed her path, and it was the sign she had asked for. Joy showed up in the middle of suffering because she gave it a place to land. Where in your life are you waiting to feel better before you take the step that might actually make you feel better? The park is waiting. So is your dog.

  • S3 Ep 6: He's Not Retiring. He's Refining. And There's a Big Difference.

Author and transformational coach Michael Hunter joined me this episode and reframed something I didn't even know needed reframing. He's not in retirement; he's in refinement. Getting his second wind. Finally doing what he wants to do instead of what he has to do. We talked about the self-leadership cycle, why courage, direction, and grit can't be learned but must be drawn from you, and why this cycle doesn't happen once; it happens over and over throughout your entire life. And then he asked a question that stopped me cold.

About Michael Hunter:Michael is an author, speaker, teacher, and transformational coach who has spent more than three decades helping people and organizations grow, lead, and navigate change. His journey from military service and a two-year South Pacific sailing adventure to corporate training, coaching, and writing has shaped his belief that life is an ongoing adventure of discovery, growth, contribution, and becoming. He is living proof that the second wind is always worth waiting for.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

Where in your life are you waiting for something to happen before you take action? Waiting for the right time, the right sign, the right amount of money, the right feeling of readiness,  and meanwhile life is just sitting there, waiting on you. Courage, direction, and grit aren't things you learn from a book. They're already inside you waiting to be pulled out. The only question is what's the first small courageous step you can take today — not when everything lines up perfectly, but right now, exactly as things are. What is it? Go do that.

  • S3 Ep5: She Left Med School, Saved a Disney Event, and It All Made Perfect Sense

Michelle Hogan joined me this episode and her story is one of those that makes you want to stop second-guessing everything and just trust what you're naturally good at. We talked about how she built her own production and event company, how she once transformed an unexpectedly massive event space into something cozy and intimate in less than a day for a Disney event — and walked away with a stuffed wizard Mickey Mouse from Fantasia as a thank you. We also talked about leaving med school to follow what comes naturally, and how that decision ended up serving her clients better than she ever could have imagined.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

Michelle started an experiment — making real eye contact with people instead of just walking past them. And what she found was that people opened up, responded differently, and actually saw her back. That's the kick. We are so busy moving through our days that we forget the most powerful thing we can do is simply see the person in front of us. Try it today. One person. Real eye contact. See what happens.

    IF YOU LIKED THIS EPISODE:

If Michelle's story of trusting her natural abilities over the expected path resonated with you — the Overthinking + Empath Archetype Quiz is going to show you exactly where you're second-guessing what already comes naturally. • S3 Ep 4: Your Stress Has a Personality. Do You Know Which One You Are?

Suresha Hill joined me, and we went deep into something most of us have never thought about — that stress isn't one-size-fits-all. Different people have different stress personalities, and they respond completely differently under pressure. We talked about why teaching kids somatic exercises and nervous system resets early would change everything by the time they hit their teenage years. And then Suresha told me about an eleven-year-old girl who was angry, rebellious, and ran away with her best friend across the street — until it got dark and they both quietly went back home. That girl grew up to be one of the most grounded people I've talked to on this show.

About Suresha Hill:Suresha has spent her life investigating what gets in the way of humans, including herself, being truly free. She holds three degrees from Kent State University in education and school psychology, certificates in over a dozen healing modalities, and has spent more than 30 years immersed in spiritual practices including living in India. All of it informs how she works with people and how she understands the body's remarkable capacity to heal itself.

Suresha is offering a free chapter from any of her books on Somatic Intelligence to the first 10 listeners who request one. Head to her website and grab yours before they're gone: invisiblesheshed.com

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

A professor handed Suresha a cup and asked her to think deeply about it. That's it. An inanimate object. A cup. And it cracked her open and set her entire spiritual path in motion. The most profound shifts don't always come from dramatic moments; sometimes they come from someone asking you to slow down and actually look at what's right in front of you. What's the cup in your life right now that you've been too busy to really see?

  • S3 Ep 3: A Military Police Car, an F16, and the Best Leadership Lesson I've Ever Heard

Keith Harris joined me this episode, and I was not prepared for how much ground we were going to cover. We talked about how he built a pet-sitting business from scratch while serving as a major in the Air Force, and how it grew so fast that his family had to shut it down because it outpaced everything else. We talked about retiring from government work after decades of service and pivoting into coaching humans with pet separation anxiety, which is honestly genius. And then he told me a story about a military police car, an F16, and a general who responded to chaos in a way that changed how Keith leads forever.

About Keith Harris:Keith is a 10-year pet care pro who has served over 600 clients and has seen firsthand how pet anxiety takes passionate pet owners hostage, canceling trips, turning down invitations, living on edge. He's now a trusted advisor helping pet owners move from panic to calm confidence through his tailored 10-week coaching program From Anxious to Anchored. If you love your pet but feel like you've lost your freedom, Keith is your person.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

A military police car got accidentally driven into an F16. Significant damage. The general arrived at the scene before Keith did, and instead of losing it, he looked at Keith and said calmly: "I trust that you will handle this correctly and you will be a better person for it." That's it. That's the whole lesson. Before you react, before you judge, before you spiral, what if you just trusted that the person in front of you could handle it? And what if someone said that to you right now about whatever mess you're standing in? You will handle this correctly. You will be a better person for it.

    IF YOU LIKED THIS EPISODE:

If Keith's story of navigating big transitions and trusting yourself through the chaos resonated — the Clear Signal Experience is your next step. 12 weeks of nervous system work, emotional mastery, and intuitive clarity so you can move through your transition with confidence, not second-guessing every move. • S3 Ep 2: Your Burnout Isn't a Hustle Problem. It's an Alignment Problem.

Para Natarajan joined me for a conversation that will hit every corporate woman who has ever dragged herself through the front door after a long day and had absolutely nothing left to give. We talked about why burnout isn't just about working too hard; it's about working in the wrong direction. When you're not on your authentic path, your energy doesn't just deplete. It misdirects. And then a five-year-old looks you dead in the eye and says, "You have a choice," and suddenly everything becomes very clear.

About Para Natarajan:Para is a corporate burnout coach and founder of Beyond the Next Win™, helping high-achieving women fix the root cause of burnout,  not just the symptoms. She's also the author of the children's book The Mountain of Maybe. She works with women who are crushing it on the outside and running on empty on the inside, and she knows exactly why that's happening and what to do about it.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

You have a choice. Para's five-year-old said it better than any coach ever could. The exhaustion you're carrying isn't just from doing too much; it's from doing too much of the wrong thing. Showing up in masculine energy all day at work and then coming home to instantly shift into girlfriend, mother, or wife without a moment's transition is not sustainable. You are not a machine. You are a woman with an authentic path, and when you're not on it, your body will find a way to tell you. Are you listening?

  • S2 Ep 7: From Army Reserves to the Pole: One Woman's Journey Back to Her Body

Michelle Stine went from the hyper-masculine world of the Army Reserves to teaching pole dancing — and the journey between those two things is one of the most unexpected and beautiful stories I've heard about finding your way back to yourself. We talked about body shame, body appreciation, the healing that can happen when you let yourself move in ways that feel powerful and feminine and completely yours. Also, pole dancing is harder than it looks and I have a lot of respect for everyone doing it.

About Michelle Stine: Michelle is a strength and conditioning coach and pole instructor at Chrome Fitness in Indianapolis. She brings the discipline of her military background and the grace of her pole training together in a way that will make you want to sign up for a class immediately — and maybe also reconsider every assumption you've ever had about what fitness can look like.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

That thing that feels completely impossible to you right now? Give it two weeks. Seriously. Michelle sees it happen on the pole all the time — students who can't imagine doing something, doing it. Progress isn't always linear and it isn't always fast, but it is always possible when you show up and get the right support around you. Stop waiting until you feel ready. Ready comes after you start.

  • S2 Ep 6: R2D2 Showed Up Blue and Rubbery and I Have Questions

Christi Jernegan is back, and this time we went somewhere we've never gone on this show — outer space, other dimensions, and everything in between. We talked about our own personal ET and multidimensional experiences, why not all of them are scary or sinister, and how telepathy, telekinesis, and remote viewing are more real than the media wants you to think. I met a blue rubbery R2D2-type guide. Christi got operated on by ETs right before her gallbladder failed. We're both fine. Mostly.

About Christi Jernegan: Christi is a generational healing sherpa, intuition development coach, and guide who supports divorced women who are ready to do the real work — so they can make clear decisions, feel safe in their own skin, and live from a grounded inner yes. She is the person you call when you're done surviving and ready to actually heal.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

You are not just a passenger in your life. You are a creator — the same creative force that built galaxies is running through you right now. Christi's biggest lesson from years of working with metaphysics and esoterics is that we are active participants in the creation of our reality. Your thoughts, your actions, your alignment, how you move your physical body — all of it is shaping what your experience looks like. You are not waiting to be chosen. You are already choosing. Act like it.

  • S2 Ep 5: Less Is More: Why Your Tween Doesn't Need a 12-Step Skincare Routine

Lauren Wilson, founder and CEO of Maloa Skincare, joined me for a conversation I didn't know I needed. We talked about what's actually happening when adult marketing playbooks get pointed at tweens and younger kids — the influencer pressure, the unnecessary complexity, and the messaging that's quietly stealing childhood. Maloa means today is a good day — sunshine, laughter, fresh air, time with the people you love. And Lauren built an entire skincare brand around protecting that.

About Lauren Wilson:Lauren is the founder and CEO of MALOA Skincare, a safe, tween skincare brand launching this October. With over 15 years in health, wellness, and beauty marketing, she built MALOA to give young girls simple, gentle products — and a reminder that fresh air, sunshine, and laughter are just as good for your skin as anything you put on it. When she's not building the brand, she's outside soaking up the Southern California sun with her two kids, husband, and dog. We love her entire energy.

THIS EPISODE'S KICK IN THE TUSH MOMENT:

Lauren got laid off from a job she loved. Instead of spiraling, she took it as a signal — that she wasn't meant to work for anyone else, she was meant to build something that actually mattered. That's the kick. Sometimes the thing that feels like a loss is actually a shove in the right direction. And sometimes the best thing you can do for the next generation is remind them that simple is enough, screens can wait, and being a kid is not something to rush through. Less is more. For your skin and for your life.
