Doug is also a film producer. His first film was a documentary titled Mother of Normandy: The Story of Simone Renaud. His next film, I Want Your Money, was released in over 500 theaters across the nation in 2010. In 2014, Doug produced and directed Reagan at Normandy, a short film for the Airborne Museum in Normandy, France, and in 2017, he produced Heroes of WWII: The European Campaign.  Other projects he is producing include a cable TV show on film and TV cars called Kars & Stars and a feature film, Big Life.

Doug has a love for history and hopes to keep making films and documentaries that are inspiring, informative and educational. His passion for Hollywood films and time travel inspired him to create The Hollywood Time Travel Series. It’s a Wonderful Time is his debut novel, which he coauthored with Reinhard Denke.

Last Thursday, April 19th, 2024 I lost my best friend of almost half a century, Barbara Price Negro.  In the midst of my grief and pain, I wrote a poem in her memory, which I would like to share here with my FB friends. 

In Memory of Barbara

Somewhere on the other side of the veil

Beyond that mysterious Golden Gate

A party is happening, a gala celebration

A time of music and dancing, and the

Merriment of reunited loved ones.

There is the tinkling laughter of many angels

And joyous bells chiming everywhere

All because someone special has arrived

Even as we mourn our loss.

We need to have her back

But far above they are chanting her name.

Our view is not the same.

Dearest Barbara, now safe in the arms of God, we say

As we treasure your memory

A floral bouquet of love in many blooms

And many ways. 

We will not forget you

Memories of you in ever present contemplation

Your life with  a loving commemoration.

Running your business is no different than running your family. You need a daily plan or everything goes to hell.

I became a mom and an entrepreneur at the exact same time, April 29, 1985, at 8:52 p.m.

The moment they put that first baby in my arms I knew I was not going back to a J-O-B I hated, so I just started a business.

When I gave my notice to the company I worked for, they offered to put a computer in my house (in 1985 no one had home computers), make me an independent contract, increase my pay, put a computer in our home, and let me work from home. I was one of the original “telecommuters.”

I have started several businesses through the years, but my biggest business lessons came when I, purposefully, bought a bankrupt business in 2002 (a chocolate franchise).

I turned that business around in 12 months adding $100,000 to the bottom line. Four years later I bought a second bankrupt business (another chocolate franchise), and turned it around in less than 12 months adding slightly over $100,000 to the bottom line. I started helping my fellow franchisees increase their revenue, and then small business owners.

I now work with service and retail businesses to help them turn around their business and increase their cash flow fast.
