  • #157: How Ghulam recovered from the loss of family members and began to feel whole again and happy.

    Connect with Ghulan Fernandes

I used to think that old people died, and other people died, until I experienced multiple significant losses. I was stuck in the pain of grief for years. At times I felt lost, empty, and hopeless.

Lack of the right knowledge, tools and processes meant that I didn’t know how to move forward. Sometimes I wondered what the point of life was.

People around me didn’t know what to say and would often come out with platitudes or unhelpful comments.

During my quest in looking for answers, I explored many avenues. Counselling helped some, but when I discovered an action based step by step process for handling grief, it made a huge difference. It gave me a structured, systematic, and gentle process to discover and then deal with my unresolved grief.

Everyone’s journey is unique. Comparisons are unhelpful. I am passionate about helping others on their grief journey, so they don’t spend years stuck in pain and therapy.

I want to be a beacon of hope, and proof that it is possible to regain your sense of purpose and joy. It is possible to move forward. We only have one life. Get the help you need to make sure it is a life well lived!

You can book a free discovery call on Ghulam's website to learn more about how her programs might be able to help you with your grief.

  • #156: Delaney Parker's new erotic novel "grace" has the main character with multiple sclerosis and desperately wants to have a second child.

    Connect with Delaney Parker

Hello. My name is Delaney Parker, a writer and the author of the sexually charged, emotionally raw erotic fiction, GRACE. My life experiences as a woman, a mother and of having Multiple Sclerosis have given me a view that is unique and refreshing. My writing allows my characters to be themselves with their true feelings. Just like people in life, my characters possess quite layered personalities. Everyone has fine points and flaws, no one is all good or bad. We might find ourselves rooting for the bad guy then realize, it’s because we relate.

People should know that although Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic illness, those of us who dance with it are more than our pain. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis myself fifteen years ago, I am the mom of two terrific kids and the keeper of my ridiculously cute pile of pets. There is triumph after setbacks. We live beyond medical equipment or our prescriptions. See us as more than a patient or handicapped person. In us is a desire to feel whole and respected not despite but inclusive of our adaptations.

All of us have dreams, desires, goals and hopes, albeit they may be different for each person. We have obstacles to do our best to overcome and find acceptance with ourselves for who we are inside . Even when I can no longer dance, I will feel the rhythm. And, I will remember the steps by heart and my heart can still be moved.

This is why I wrote the new adult novel, GRACE.

    Connect with Diane Jellen

Diane Jellen – Author, speaker, and mentor

As a child, author Diane Jellen liked feeling needed when her alcoholic dad borrowed the nickels and dimes she had hidden under the living room rug. During her twenty-eight year marriage, her cycle of codependency came full circle as she enabled her husband’s alcohol cravings. In a search for answers to her compulsive care giving, Diane attended addiction-counseling classes. At the age of forty-eight, she signed up for her first college class and after eight years of night school, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Along with successful completion of the American Association of Christian Counselor course, Caring for People God’s Way, Jellen attended many church-sponsored leadership classes. She received a certificate from Teaching to Make a Difference Seminars sponsored by Sampson Ministry Resources. As an inspirational speaker, Diane participated at retreat workshops in Connecticut, Ohio, Vermont, as well as Pennsylvania. She is also a former team member with the Worldwide Marriage Encounter Organization and an apprentice with DivorceCare recovery support group.

Her impressive education and background earned Jellen a position with the Palm Beach County School District in an alcohol and drug recovery facility. Diane has also worked in several residential rehabilitation clinics. As her confidence and faith grew, she began to minister to others through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Born in Shenandoah, PA, Diane is the mother of four children and two grandchildren. She is now retired and lives
