“We found out about the influence that the Roman Empire had on England. After they left and the dust had settled, a man named William the Conqueror took control of the country. King Henry VIII and Winston Churchill were very different people, but both were important to England’s history. Now you know that Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch of England, and she resides in the 775 room Buckingham Palace. We started our journey of Mexico’s history by learning about the Maya and their ancient city of Chichén Itzá. Then we learned about the Aztecs. They built some of the ancient pyramids that still stand today! In 1519, Hernán Cortés landed in Veracruz and claimed the Mexican land in the name of the Spanish King. However, 300 years later Mexico would gain their independence! Don’t forget about the wonderful music of the mariachis and their colorful outfits. You may just find a mariachi band serenading you as you eat one of the many delicious Mexican dishes we learned about! Look out for that fútbol! Woah, that ball almost got you there! Now we know how much Mexico loves its soccer and that some matches are so popular that they could be considered national holidays! Speaking of holidays, make sure to enjoy Día de los Muertos and The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Both are filled with fun, family and food!

We started by learning about the three main indigenous groups of Canada which are the First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Don’t forget about John Cabot and his journey to the Eastern shores of Canada. Now we know about the battle of 1812 and how it helped lead to the Act of Union in 1841. We visited the beautiful city of Toronto and marveled at Aurora Borealis. Now you can impress your friends with your new knowledge of Canadian animals. Who’s hungry? Go grab some Poutine and get your French fry on! Don’t eat too much! You still need to take your friends and family on a vacation of Canada’s natural beauty. Finally, we found out just how much Canadian’s love maple syrup and hockey.

We started off our journey learning about the history of Australia with the native Australian Aboriginal peoples. James Cook came to the island on behalf of the British and found some locations to establish prison colonies. Gold was found in Australia and the provinces grew. They grew so much in fact that Australia gained independence from the British! We learned about the beautiful Great Barrier Reef and some of Australia’s animals. It is very important for all of us to work hard to protect the planet to make sure it stays healthy. Don’t forget about the amazing performances to be heard at the opera house or catch a sporting match in Melbourne!

“ The tour of Scotland’s history started with learning about the Celts, one of Scotland’s earliest inhabitants. We then learned about the Viking age in Scotland’s history in which the Vikings and warfare rained supreme. Scotland found a fighter in William Wallace when he defiantly stood up to the King of England. However, peace did come between the two countries in the form of the Acts of Union. We traveled to the beautiful, and world famous, Scottish highlands and learned about is different biomes and animals. We learned about the odd looking, but beautiful sounding bagpipes and also about the kilts that their players often wear. We took one last stop to catch some sports and learn about Scottish football!”
