Paris, 1942. The Nazi flag flies from the Eiffel Tower. Gestapo are everywhere, questioning anyone who dares to speak against them or defy their control. There’s an Iron grip on the city of light. But lately, the Gestapo have begun hearing rumors about a man who can get anyone out of Paris. Anyone. Resistance fighters. Jews. Assassins. Criminals. Someone in Paris has decoded the Nazi’s dragnet and is getting people out. And they need to find out who it is and put a stop to it.
But the truth behind these rumors is something far different - and far more sinister - than what the Nazi’s imagined. Because sometimes, the chaos unleashed by monumental evil, creates the perfect cover for a more… intimate kind of evil to take root.
This is the story of Dr. Satan.

On February 1st, 2002, a huge storm wreaks havoc on Shelling Hill Beach in Northern Ireland. Huge parts of the beach’s embankments and even part of a car park and roadway are simply washed away. But the storm is more than a weather event. It’s a forensic detective. Because by the time it has cleared, it has washed away more than sand and earth. It’s unearthed the bones of a woman and a coverup 30 years in the making.
The bones belong to Jean McConville, and this is her story.

On September 26th, 1888, Dr. Thomas Barnardo, a street preacher and social reformer focused on helping the children of London’s East End visited a lodging house in White Chapel. He wanted to talk to the women of the area to find out more about their lives and needs. What he heard, as he listened to some of the women talking around the kitchen table, was terror. Terror over the Whitechapel murders - and fear any one of them could be Jack the Ripper’s next victim. In fact, one of them would be.
In part two of Killer Trip’s journey to Jack the Ripper’s London, we get to know the women Jack hunted, and explore how their deaths, and the evolution of London will forever be linked.

In late August, 1888, a series of violent and barbarous murders began in London. Women mutilated so badly, their crime scenes are still described as some of the worst ever seen. This was the autumn of Jack the Ripper.
But Jack the Ripper’s rampage didn’t simply happen in London. It happened because of London and, in turn, it would truly change London forever - from street names to the rapid innovation of CSI to the living standards of London’s poorest to, literally, things like street lights. The crimes of Jack the Ripper are some of the most consequential murders in history. And we’re going to find out why.

When John Lennon was shot, it was more than a murder. For a lot of people, it was more than a man who died. It was an idea. A vision of a better world, one of peace and kindness and harmony. The fact that he was struck down in such a violent way, said everything about the kind of world we were actually living in. And it wasn’t the world he was trying to inspire us towards.
John Lennon came to New York City to find community with the kind of eclectic, artistic misfits he felt most at home with. And to find a bit of anonymity after a youth spent in the public eye. But in the end, it was that anonymity - that easy access - that cost him his life. This is a story about fame, fake news, and fate - which all combined on one awful night in NYC to change the history of music forever.

Sometimes, you don’t want to just visit the beautiful beaches, the theme parks, and the tourist traps. The “well manicured” - and sanitized - story of a place. Sometimes you want to go deeper… and darker.
Because the darkest moments in history often have a lot to say about the places where they happened.
This is Killer Trip.
Each episode, host and Cerca Co-founder, Dominique Ferrari invites you to take a look at just how the darkest of crimes can leave their mark on cities as well as people.
The Killing of John Lennon and his love of New York City, The disappearance of Jean McConoville in Belfast, a city torn apart, the twisted horror of Dr. Satan in WWII Paris, and the story of Jack the Ripper’s London from an angle you have never heard before.
