Did you know you need other people? As followers of Jesus Christ, we need one another. We were not created to be alone. The Scripture speaks of fellowship as a practice of those who follow Christ. It is more important than perhaps we recognize. Fellowship is a key part in our growth in Christ. It's a practice which needs to be brought to our attention, and a practice that must not be neglected.

Do you pray? Why do you pray? Both believers and non-believers (to some extent) have the thought that prayer works. Prayer is us (humans) in contact with and communicating with the God of this Universe. What an incredible privilege! Prayer is a discipline or practice that is beneficial to our growth in Christ. Thankfully, we are not left to figure it out on our own. Jesus gave us a pattern to follow. We will focus our attention on prayer through the lens of Jesus' teaching about prayer.

We begin a new series looking at the practices of the follower of Christ. In week one, our focus will be on the Bible, the Word of God. Do you read the Scripture? Do y study it? Is the Scripture a priority in your life? In order to grow in our faith, it is vial that we take the time to red and know God's Word. And just as importantly, we must put His Word into practice in our lives. Join us a we look at the basics of God's Word.

As a new year begins it is a good time to remember all that God has done in our lies while also looking ahead to the future. Was this past year filled with disappointment or was it the best year to date? When we look back at this past year it's important to not dwell on changes for too long because God is actively at work in our lives now. Are there opportunities that God has presented to us that we need to listen and wholeheartedly follow? This Sunday Isaiah will remind us about what the Israelies went through and why it is important for us to keep seeking the new things God has planned for us.

The Magi, wise men from the East, began a search for the "King of the Jews" which led them to Bethlehem. There, they found the King (the Messiah), and worshiped Him. We too are to worship Jesus the Messiah. Our worship should flow from our love for Him. Do you love Him? We know He loves us. Join us as we observe God's love for us, the action which flowed from His love, and then see what our response should be to Him

"O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie..." We sing this carol probably every year. But was it a still night just outside of Bethlehem? The shepherds watching over their flocks that night would probably say, "No!" Their night was disturbed with good news of great joy - and a whole lot of fear - when an angel, then host of angels, appeared to them. The news? The Messiah, the Savior, had been born in Bethlehem. After their visit to the newborn baby, they spread the news of great joy to whomever would listen. The reason for their joy? Their Savior had been born. Today, the news is still good news of great joy for us. Our Savior has been born. Do you know the joy of sins forgiven? There is a Savior! He wants to be yours.

Peace! We like peace, don't we? How many times have parents, maybe especially moms, said "If I could only have a moment of peace and quiet?" There are times in life when our circumstances disturb our peace. Where do you turn when your peace is disturbed? Mary had some pretty challenging circumstances which, no doubt, disturbed her peace, at least for a moment. How did she regain peace? We will explore that this Sunday.

Do you have hope? Who or what do you have your hope in? Where is your hope when life's circumstances do not seem to make any sense? Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, had some pretty unusual circumstances in his life. And they certainly did not make much sense. But as he turned to God, hope was the result. Join us this first Sunday of Advent as we look at the life of Joseph.

Are you grateful or entitled? We hear a lot about entitlement mentality today. Everybody seems to believe they are "owed" something. Entitlement decreases thanksgiving. As we prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, join us as we take a look at why we should give God thanks.

How easy is it to deceive yourself? If we want to believe something about ourselves, we tend to do so. The Laodicean church believed something about themselves that was completely opposite of what Jesus KNEW was true about them. So, Jesus confronts them. Out of anger? No! Because He loved them. He was willing to restore them to Himself. He is willing today to restore those who are willing to turn back to Him.
