How seriously does God view sin? It's certainly not a small thing in His eyes. At a point in the history of mankind, people became so evil God was ready to "wipe mankind...from the face of the earth." Clearly, God hates sin, and will punish sin. Have you ever run across a portion of Scripture which caused you to wonder, "Why is this in here?" There are a few of those places, aren't there? Sin was introduced to us in Genesis 3. In Genesis 4, we begin seeing the tragic results of sin. We also discover more about the nature of sin and its plan. It's important that we never take sin lightly and that we never let it master us. But is it possible? God told Cain, in reference to sin, "You must master it." So, is it possible?

Why is there so much evil and wickedness in this world? Why do bad things happen to good people? Is there any explanation? Genesis 3 opens the door of our sight to see a humanity-wide problem. The Bible simply calls it sin. This account is founataional to our faith, as well as to the balance of Scripture. Here, we find the reason for a Savior.

The current culture has wide-ranging views on mankind/humanity. Is it valuable? Are certain people or ethnicities less valuable or important than others? What about sexuality and gender? We believe there are truths which are vitally important to our faith. Where we came from is a foundational subject we need to have a good grasp on. Read Genesis 1, and be prepared to be strengthened in your faith.

Nicodemus thought he knew how God worked, and he had their relationship all wrapped up into a set of rules and under control. But living a good and moral life wasn't enough for Nicodemus, and it's not enough for you either. What was then, is true now - to enter the kingdom of God you must be born again.
