Throughout the years men have actively pursued women in search of their significant other. If you look closely you will find that men try to be chivalrous with different acts. They may open the door, pull a chair out so they can sit, or hand the lady their jacket if it is chilly. The Bible has different examples of how a man can love his wife and we see them on full display as Jesus loves His Church. Join us on Sunday as we will be studying Ephesians 5:25-33, and looking to emulate how Jesus loved His Church in our relationships. I promise, this is a message for anyone and everyone.

Whether we realize it or not, you an I are passing something on to the next generation. Mom & Dad, you are teaching your children something which they will take with them. The question is: Are you passing the faith along to your children? Will they follow in your footsteps? Most likely they will follow your footsteps. Are you walking with Jesus? The Scripture reveals we are to pass the faith along to our children. And there are tragic consequences if we fail to do so. There is hope for the family if we pass the faith along.

We will cover seven ways Jesus defeated death before His ultimate victorious resurrection. We will investigate some of the Biblical stories giving evidence that Jesus clearly showed He could defeat death, so in Him, we need not fear death. However, as we imitate Jesus, and live Christ-like lives, we too should be actively defeating death on a regular basis. Come join us Sunday as we travel this road of discovery and see where we can work with Jesus in defeating these seven avenues leading to death.

A look around us reveals that the family unit has many struggles. Families are being torn apart. Marriages are struggling and/or failing. Children are hurting. One might be tempted to wonder if there is any hope for the family? Thankfully, the answer is, "Yes! There is hope for the family." If we get back to the foundation of family and build our family on that solid foundation, there is hope. This Sunday we take a look at the foundation for family.

Today we conclude our series focusing on our mission or purpose. Our time will be spent looking at what practices of discipleship are. While the list is not going to be exhaustive, it will give us a good starting point. Our commitment is to instruct believers in the practices of discipleship.

As we continue to be reminded of our mission or purpose for existing, we will examine the second "I" of our purpose statement. We are committed to ILLUSTRATE the Christian life by living out our faith daily. What does that look like? If you join us Sunday, we will attempt to answer this question.

As we begin 2024, it's time for us to be reminded of God's purpose for Kilpatrick Church. He did not place us in this location, in this community, by accident. He has a purpose for us. I invite you to join me for a three week series entitled: "I" Remember, where we will take a look at the mission statement of Kilpatrick Church.

The word amazing can be overused to describe things that we see or experience throughout our lives. Also, what we deem to be amazing changes throughout the various stages of life too. In the Bible people were consistently amazed at what Jesus was doing from His teachings to His miracles that were performed. However, there were two instances where Jesus was amazed. Once it was because of a lack of faith and the second time was amazing faith. I encourage you to join us as we study both passages and see what we can apply to our lives to have amazing faith.

As we enter a new year, there is opportunity for us to take a quick look back at the previous year and reflect on the events and happenings. It is also a perfect opportunity for us to look forward, with anticipation, to what we hope to accomplish in a new year. Join us Sunday as we take time to reflect and anticipate.

There is a common theme in Scripture. When people are placed in positions of power they typically fail. This is true in all kinds of human led systems, agencies, and organizations throughout history. People often look to humans and human systems to do what only God can do. Is there an answer? John the Baptist both suffered under oppression and tyranny. Sure, Jesus is the answer when we die, but is there an answer to the failure of human systems in this life? As Frodo learned in "Lord of the Rings," it is more enjoyable to remain in the Shire, but that will not address the advancing problem.
