First, it’s there in every story of the bible: Whenever people turn to God, it’s because of His kindness. Romans 2:4: “God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change.” It’s so different from how the world treats us when we blow it. If you’re struggling to change, and you’re losing hope, let the kindness of God wash over you! Then, our world is craving kindness. But before we can be kind people we have to realize something about ourselves: Our hearts are not naturally bent toward kindness. It’s something Jesus must work in us as we experience his undeserved kindness: Jim Cymbala, pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York City shares one of his big failures to powerfully bring this truth home. Finally Shawna shares about a day that two people bulldozed over what she had to say and how unseen it made her feel. But that same day a simple act of kindness healed her heart.
