Today is Pentecost and Pastor Bill Harmon reminded us of the faithfulness, obedience and courage of the first disciples as they waited for the gift of the Holy Spirit and then after receiving it, they went out boldly to witness and convert new believers.  Today we receive that same gift from our Heavenly Father and are commissioned to do just as they did, boldly go out and share the good news of Jesus with the unsaved of today.

Pastor Adam Hengst warns us in his message to be cautious about all the voices and influences which try to push us in different directions but to keep our focus on the voice of the Good Shepherd who bore all our sins on the cross because he loves us.

Pastor Bill Harmon’s message today reminds us that all Christian have failed in obeying God’s law, in honoring God and in loving and serving God and our neighbors yet just like the original disciples, God still loves us, desires a relationship with each of us and will joyfully forgive all our sins and welcomes us as His children when we repent and ask for forgiveness.  Easter can be celebrated every day!

This has been a special week and the two services on Good Friday were also special and different.  In the noon service, the Good Friday Passion reading was presented by Pastor Adam Hengst and Ryan Pfendler and at the 7:30pm service, Pastor Bill Harmon’s Homily was “A Letter to Jesus” from a remorseful sinner, perhaps a letter you or I should have written.  As a result this is a combined podcast for Good Friday begins with the Homily and followed by the Passion reading.
