Chatting With the Hosts starts at 2:26
We talk the stunningly beautiful Tale of Princess Kaguya, the film Lupin the III and the Castle of Caligrosto, the intense feelings inspired by Anohana and the Flower We Saw that Day, and Joel talks a bit about Black Clover again.
The main episode begins at 12:44
This episode mainly focuses on Kalifa and Nami, and we discuss new powers on both sides of the battlefield! We discuss whether the power of soap and the power of being slippery are at all related, and we celebrate Nami coming into her own weather witch powers! Also featured is Chopper's Monster Point and a discussion of where it will pop up in the future, as well as the philosophy of justice. Eventually we use it to hate on Spandam some more
Chatting with the hosts starts at 2:04
We talk Hazbin Hotel, and are absolutely in love with Alastor the Radio Demon. Joel has continued to watch Black Clover and loves 2 new characters: Mereoleona Vermillion and Zora Ideale. We also discuss plans to be more focused and get more running done!
Regular episode resumes at 20:39
The Succinct Summary Rap is at 21:22 - 22:31
Franky gets a lot of focus this episode, given his was the main fight and also because his fuel affects his personality, apparently?? Chopper uses the forbidden technique despite his sensei's warnings, and we suspect Kalifa is trying to woo Nami. Plus, Usopp becomes a sword, and we wonder who really should have been handcuffed together for maximum hilarity. Also, who (besides Spandam) is the stupidest member of CP9?
We have a mega sized episode to finish out 12 days of KotWN bonus episode! We talk about previous bonus episodes, we talk about Christmas and how some of its ideas might lend themselves to the One Piece world, and we talk about looking ahead to future episodes and our New Years Resolutions!
But perhaps most importantly is our charity fundraiser to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Donation page is here Talking about past episodes starts at 4:27 Talking about One Piece Christmas starts at 21:12 Talking about future episodes or specials starts at 1:03:47 Talking about tips for New Years Resolution starts at 1:22:29
A few other discussion points brought up:
From everyone at King of the What Now to all of our wonderful listeners, happy holidays, thank you for your support, and see you next year! We're grateful for every listen and any time we can help spread smiles and laughter
This bonus episode takes a wider look at shonen battle anime, of which One Piece is just a single (and arguably best) series. We talk Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Fairy Tail, History's Strongest Disciple, Bleach, My Hero. We discuss the tropes we enjoy from these series, as well as what makes the best rival and antagonist characters. So take off those training weights, prepare the forbidden technique your master warned you against using recklessly, and let's head into battle with someone who has our exact same abilities but even stronger, and better hair!
Join us for our first ever guest appearance from none other than the internet's Grant, host of both the Super Sentai Podcast as well as the Blade Licking Thieves podcast. We don't have a specific topic of conversation, so we chat about lots of things: Tokusatsu, isekai anime trends, Evangelion (which is, definitively, not a mecha anime), Fruits Basket as well as Full Moon Wo Sagashite. We're thrilled by his positivity, and we discuss what it means to be an oldtaku. Other series we discuss or recommendations from our hosts:
Deadly Seven Sins Season 2 Kakuranger Gigguk's Evangelion Abridged Kamen Rider Build Madoka Magica Puella
In the last bonus episode with Curtis, we tackle the 4 novella science fiction series The Murderbot Chronicles by Martha Wells. It stars an introverted security bot (sec unit) that discovers it may care more about its human companions than it had once believed. And corporations are too big to fail and are putting the lives of their employees at risk. It's a story of directly exploring emotions, and we love it. Also, we talk about the difference of fantasy and science fiction
It's time to power up with this SUPER episode that finally gives Joel what he's wanted all along: canonical Gogeta! Kat's out sick so it's up to Joel and Curtis to power up and face this challenge. The Dragon Ball Super folks attempt to make Broly more interesting in his canonical debut, Freeza is back for shenanigans, and, you know, we have an action packed movie that's 70% movie and 5000% Hype. HIIII-YAAAAAAAAAH!!
Gosh do we have a lot to talk about, which makes sense considering we're covering 2 movies, wow! We discuss Thanos as a villain, whether or not Thor is an interesting character, and how we might integrate One Piece into various elements of the MCU.

If you enjoyed our discussion of the first season of the Expanse, then gosh do we have good news for you! This season includes more space Zombies and increased stakes as tension continues to climb! Sadly, it does not seem that Miller and Holden have developed super powers from the radiation... yet.
Chatting with the Hosts starts at 2:41
We briefly discuss our plans for NaNoWriMo (sadly, neither of your hosts made much progress this year)
We're making progress on reading Paul Kreuger's Steel Crow Saga
The final season of Bojack Horseman has started, and we're looking forward to the closure it may bring for the characters, and the depiction of self-improvement as work.
Briefly mentioned is the His Dark Materials Trilogy, which is both a book series and a TV show on HBO
Regular Episode Starts at 12:52.5 We suffer through some flashback episodes in this one, folks. However, as if in reward for our suffering, we also get 5 utterly bizarre omakes, so at least it's not completely treading water. Then, we get to the real fun as Luffy and crew crash into the Tower of Law! We discover the secret of Funkfried the elephant, and Kaku's devil fruit ability. It's a regular menagerie over here!
