King Of The What Now?

This episode covers two specials for the price of one! However, "Jango's Dance Carnival" only lasts for five minutes, leaving your hosts with little to say. More time is spent discussing "Clockwork Island Adventure" which pits the Straw Hat pirates and 2 new characters against the Trump pirates. Your hosts don't really understand the leader's devil fruit, question the aesthetic of one of the minions, and spend a lot of time talking about butts! Just another day on the show, honestly

Every step along the journey known as the East Blue Saga has been leading to this. Reverse mountain looms in the distance, Luffy and his crew are meant to traverse... upwards on a canal that defies all logic. We look forward to what the Grand Line may hold, we look back on the journey and discuss our "rankings" of the current crew members. There's also the Apis and millennial dragon stuff to talk about, but that doesn't feel as exciting as the adventure that awaits.

Before the Straw Hats can make it to the Grand Line, they have to help a little girl who doesn't like pirates- a brand new concept to the One Piece series. We discuss whether Eric is an appropriate name for a villain, and Luffy is apparently capable of understanding dragons. Where could the story possibly go next? Only one way to find out

It's time for another adventure that is not, strictly speaking, from the One Piece anime TV show. Instead, Joel and Curtis explore the special "Adventure in the Ocean's naval." It's got an ancient treasure of the gods, it's got a talking bat, and best of all, it has a pirate whose name is Captain Joke! This episode raises more questions than it can possibly answer, but it's still a fun ride anyways

A lot happens in these episodes of One Piece, so be prepared to be on the edge of your seat. We find out the identity of Sara Hamm, we get a confrontation between Luffy and Buggy, Luffy and Smoker, Zoro and Tashigi, and the appearance of the character with the coolest character name ever! Also divine intervention, screaming tea, and Curtis theorizes about the five categories of devil fruits.

Ah yes, what better way to usher in a new arc than with episodes that feel like filler and focus not on the protagonists, but the miniature version of a clown villain from a couple arcs ago? Luffy draws ever closer to the Grand Line, our ideas and speculations get even wackier, and we have a special guest co-host this week! Plus, who could the mysterious "Sara Ham" be? The epic conclusion to the arc where One Piece "really begins!" We explore how the Luffy Arlong battle was awesome despite it basically lacking choreography or complexity one sometimes expects from a shonen battle anime. Plus, is Along even more of a broken record than previous enemies? We certainly think so!

The battle at Arlong Park begins, and Luffy gets himself into trouble because of course he does! Amidst the discussion of whether Sanji's battle was the hardest to believe we also ponder what sort of monsters the straw hat crew members would be. You don't want to miss a second of this action!
