We take a break from the main canon of the series and travel back in time... to the first One Piece OVA, which predates the anime itself! Meet the Pirate General Ganzack, who is definitely not a crab! Learn more about Curtis's musical tastes, and observe the most emotional moment yet between everyone's favorite crew of two.
We've reached the conclusion of the Buggy Arc! Tune in to discover how Luffy manages to win this battle. Also, both of your hosts decide to try and flex their ability to write impromptu fanfiction. Joel tells a tragic tale involving One Piece cancer, while Curtis starts with a pun and ends up with a full character arc for someone who will be appearing next episode!
Also, Curtis wants as many utterances of the phrase "Buggy Balls" as possible. His wish shall be granted. Flashy Buggy Balls.
What's the next logical step after defeating a beast tamer? An acrobat swordsman unicyclist, obviously! Zoro gets his time to shine, and we spend some time confused by the fact that a "good" pirate may be a pirate that is a good person, or also a pirate that is good at what they do. Curtis makes a very bad pun. And also escapes, oh no!
Please Note: The audio might sound a little different this episode as we experienced some issues recording. The next episode will be back to our regular quality
This episode still has Luffy in a cage, Zoro wounded from a knife wound... how will the protagonists make it out of this one? We also meet the best MVP to have ever appeared in One Piece: Chou chou the dog! Oh, and Mohji the beasttamer and Richie the Lion, but you're forgetting the most important thing... dog!
In this episode we finally get a name for the mysterious girl- Nami, and we meet the terrible Buggy the Immortal, who may be the flashiest villain yet. We also discuss the currency of the One Piece world and the morality of killing in One Piece. Joel also goes on a weird tangent about Joe the Family Diner Man, coming out in 2045. We hope you love him despite his odd tangents. Yet the most important question remains: How Will Luffy and Zoro defeat the new foe?
