Proactive vs. reactive.

We know that they are going to mess up.  They're gonna do something really dumb.  (It's kind of in their job descriptions.)

Too often, we allow 'fate' to guide our families, reacting to situations and circumstances as they develop.  This is especially dangerous when it comes to discipling and disciplining our kids.  Today, Mike Lee encourages families to take a proactive approach to the dumbness, not be shocked when it happens, and begin the coaching early...

This past summer, Mark Reiswig, Northwest Christian's 8th grade Bible teacher, travelled with Voice of the Martyrs to Nigeria.  Over the last few years, the encroaching influence of Islam in northern Nigeria has produced a hotbed of persecution -- and, tragically, martyrdom -- for the minority Christian population.  In travelling to Nigeria, Mark knew this would be an intense and insightful trip...but he was not prepared for the things that God showed him...

Brian T. Moultrup serves as a chaplain and is Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, deeply committed to encouraging others through faith, service, and community.

Familiar listeners will also recognize that "G", Chris Gardiner, also serves as a Army Reserve chaplain.

Today's Kingdom Culture Conversation gives us an opportunity to 'eavesdrop' on the military chaplains as they consider the state of the world, the work impact of the chaplain within the U.S. Army, and the escalating global tensions that seem to permeate the headlines.

Christian education in Russia.  Yes, you read that correctly.  And, not only is it happening, it's been happening for thirty years.

Three decades of Christian education within a nation with a track record of hostility towards the Gospel is not for the faint of heart.  For the brave men and women involved, it has required courage and a constant commitment to excellence.

And, Joy Watson has led that team.  Today, we enjoy a remarkable Kingdom Culture Conversation with Joy has she articulates the courage of her team, the risks that they face, and how a commitment to excellence undergirds the ability to provide a transformational education in a very surprising locale.

Elijah Reid is thoughtful, intelligent, artistic, and committed to following God's leading as he endeavors to chart a course to the future.  But, his road has taken some surprising turns.

A gifted musician, he once aspired to be a professional musician and had numerous music scholarship offers from universities...but, now he does little with music.  Having studied sign language in high school, he's now working and learning within three languages...but, none of them are sign language.

Today, we enjoy a profound conversation with an alumni that makes his school and teachers proud.  Elijah reflects on his journey and discuss how he's experienced God's voice and leading.  The conversation is both instructive and inspiring!

In today's episode, mention is made of Elijah's talent submissions for Crusaders Got Talent...to enjoy the music videos that he discusses, please go to CrusadersGotTalent.com.

Nine months.  Nine nations.  A hurricane.  Exotic locations.  Primitive villages. Jungles.

For Northwest Christian alumni Jackson Schlesinger, the World Race, an amazing gap year journey directed by Adventures In Missions, there were the challenges that stemmed from the program's design to teach leadership while providing amazing spiritual formation - and then there were the challenges no one saw coming.

Like for example, a flood.

Today, we get to hear from Jackson as he recounts his adventures and talks about how God used the expected - and the unexpected - to grow and stretch him.

God uses the strangest things to accomplish His Kingdom purposes.

Case in point:  Jason Feeser's TikTok "blooper" has amassed over nine million views and brought in over 60K social media followers...to a pastor intent of preaching the Gospel from a fully transparent, authentic pulpit.

Today's Kingdom Culture Conversation demonstrates that candor but it also features a healthy dose of challenge for men to be men within a culture focused on crushing Biblical manhood.

Crusaders Charge into Summer Reading is Northwest Christian's annual summer reading campaign.  During the summer of 2025, we're jumping -- with both feet! -- into Tim Kimmel's "Raising Kids for True Greatness - Redefining Success for Your Child".  Throughout Summer 2025, swing by the school's offices to pick up a free copy and join us!

Both feet?  Yes!  The school's two podcasts -- Kingdom Culture Conversations and Off the Page -- are each working through the book all summer.

On Off the Page, Geoff and G are working through the book chapter-by-chapter, taking a deep dive into the ideas, concepts, and principles that will help us all, as parents, to reframe how we approach raising our kids.

Then, on Kingdom Culture Conversations, we are spending time with the "Top 10" list found at the conclusion of each chapter within  the book.  Specifically, we are putting those lists in front of members of the NCS faculty and community that might be able to offer insights based on their role in the school.
