The return of "What About?" Wednesdays! Text us your questions for apologist and pastor Robby Lashua!
We have kicked off the annual Red Letter Challenge and you are invited to join us!
Each year, as he did this year during chapel on January 24th, Geoff challenges the elementary students to read one chapter of the four gospels each day over the span of four months. In so doing, the school community moves corporately through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, come to see and understand Jesus, together, in fresh ways.
Today, G and Geoff spend time discussing the Red Letter Challenge, the virtues and vices of Bible reading plans, and they take a deeper look at the first gospel to be tackled within the plan: the Gospel of Mark.
To download your own copy of the Spring 2024 edition of the Red Letter Challenge, please follow this link.

Welcome to the Red Letter Challenge - Superintendent Geoff Brown's annual challenge to the community to begin reading through the four gospels, one chapter per day, over three months. Interested? You can get all the details right here!
As we kick off three months of Kingdom Culture Conversations rooted in the Red Letters and the gospels, we welcome Gordon Wickert to the International Headquarters of Kingdom Culture Conversations!
You're going to have to hear this to believe it but Gordon has done the incredible: he's memorized a HUGE portion of God's word. So much so that he can take your birthday, signs around town, or any sequence of random numbers and recite the corresponding verse from scripture.
Again, you're going to have to hear this to believe it!
And, it is the PERFECT way to kick off the Spring 2024 Red Letter Challenge!

Video games are huge.
Approximately 3.26 billion people worldwide play video games. 89.5% of video game sales happen in the digital world. In 2022, gamers in the US spent $55.5 billion on games.
But, prior to the advent of Bible X, it's been a domain largely avoided by Christendom.
Why?
But now, through one of the most successful video game development Kickstarters, Bible X is bringing the Gospel to the digital realm of video games.
Today, we talk with Eunice Lenk, a community relations and marketing advocate for Bible X which is located in Norway. In 2024, Bible X is preparing to launch "Gate Zero", a first-player adventure game that takes players into the future (the year 2072AD) in order to take them back to first century Israel.
The hype is real. The game is legit.

In 2015, Larycia Hawkins, a professor at Wheaton College in Illinois, decided to wear a headscarf during the Advent season as a gesture of solidarity with Muslims. In doing so, Hawkins quoted Pope Francis, saying that Christians and Muslims "worship the same God."
But, are they? Is Allah of Islam the same god as Jehovah or Judaism and Christianity? Is God the Father actually the father of three of world's biggest religions?
Wheaton, a Christian school, responded by putting the political science professor on paid administrative leave. The college said it needed time to review whether Hawkins' statement puts her at odds with the faith perspective required of those who work there.
In today's episode of Kingdom Culture Conversations, we put that question to Stand to Reason apologist Robby Lashua!

According to the Barna Group, six in ten senior pastors describe youth ministry as one of the top five priorities of their church.
Yet, too often these vital ministries are underfunded and understaffed. The result is that youth ministers are burning out and leaving the ministry altogether.
In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we talk transparently with a living legend: Tim Reed. Tim has served in youth ministry for years but, due to his faculty and pastoral role at Arizona Christian University, his spiritual thumbprint is all over the ministries of pastors across the country.
And, we ask the tough questions--working to download if anything can be done to reverse the trajectory of youth pastor burnout and falling youth ministry participation.

John Stuart Mill once wrote that "...even when mainstream views are true or justified, if they are never challenged, they risk becoming dead dogmas rather than living truths." In other words, according to Mill, there is value in controversy when it causes us to question social norms, lasting conventions, and established truths. Mill is suggesting that challenging truth and tradition, even when it generates controversy, breaths new life into them.
Do you agree?

Susan Konves fell into archery through happenstance--a casual afternoon of archery with her family at a Bible camp has led to a lifetime of fun and ministry using archery as the primary focus.
Considered by many to be one of the top archery coaches in Phoenix, Susan is actively involved in the National Archery in Schools Program, the Home Educated Archery Team (Phoenix HEAT), and serves as the lead coach within Northwest Christian's Crusader Archery team.
In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we'll get to know Coach Konves--her testimony, her adventures in archery, and how she uses archery to build the Kingdom.

As part of their accounts of the birth of Christ--the centerpiece to celebrating Christmas--both Matthew and Luke convey the genealogy/the lineage of Jesus.
But, "hold the phone" says a careful New Testament student reader in his question for our "What about? Wednesday" Kingdom Culture Conversations podcast episode today. "If Matthew and Luke consider Christ's lineage to be of such primary importance that they list it out at the very start of the respective gospels, why does Paul warn Timothy against it in I Timothy 1:4?"
Paul writes to Timothy, "...nor to devote yourself to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith."
So what's the deal?
As we head into the last few days before Christmas, it makes for a great question for Robby Lashua of Stand to Reason and a wonderful episode of Kingdom Culture Conversations!

Northwest Christian School's annual student-centered, Gospel-reading campaign is called REDLETTERCHALLENGE.ORG.
And, we tend to get so excited about all of it -- students, the…
That's certainly the case with Fall 2026. Launched in elementary chapel on Wednesday, August 26th, REDLETTERCHALLENGE.ORG invites students into the daily discipline of time in God's word. We read one chapter per day, working our way through the four gospels, over the course of three months. Along the way, as we work to inspire a love of daily time with Jesus, we provide extrinsic reminders of the intrinsic worth that such a commitment can make in their lives!
To assist our families with this process, as we move through the Red Letter Challenge, each day for the next several weeks, we're going to publish a podcast episode within the Kingdom Culture Conversations venue, that features Geoff Brown reading that day's gospel chapter.
For more info, and to join the fun, please visit REDLETTERCHALLENGE.ORG.
Northwest Christian School in Phoenix, Arizona is pleased to present "Kingdom Culture Conversations", a podcast committed to exploring the issues that shape culture from the perspective of a Biblical worldview.
