The return of "What About?" Wednesdays! Text us your questions for apologist and pastor Robby Lashua!
Dr. Amy Yoder is the first post-doctoral fellow in the history of Grand Canyon University, a deserved designation that she achieved due to the cutting edge nature of her research into spiritual formation strategies and high school students. But, the qualification of "cutting edge" isn't just due to the fact that she making the first research forays into the effectiveness of Christian schools.
In large part, the 'edge' to her studies is her research subjects.
Her students.
In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, G and Geoff are joined by Dr. Yoder to begin a deep dive into the first round of her data collection. The three begin comparing two identical, anonymous surveys--one in Spring 2016 and the other in Fall 2023--in which every Northwest Christian High School Student participated.
The results are revelatory.
Revealed today, the completely candid conversation captures the highs and lows of our own school's effectiveness within its primary mission driver: Biblical worldview formation. Are we making a difference? More specifically, as we applied the data from 2016 to the interim years--leaning into our strengths and refining our weaknesses--was there meaningful change?
To learn more about Dr. Yoder's well-deserved recognition as GCU's first post-doctoral fellow, please follow this link.

You know it is going to be a memorable episode of Kingdom Culture Conversations when we need to kick it off with a disclaimer!
As you'll hear on today's "What about? Wednesday" episode with Stand to Reason apologist Robby Lashua: "It truly is up to every believer to approach God’s word humbly and seek out truth independently. Today’s conversation is not meant to be the sole determinant of whether or not your home should celebrate Christmas or celebrate Christmas with Santa. Today’s conversation is simply meant to inspire you to think and discuss this issue and then to independently–using God’s word as a guide–decide the issue on your own."
Things are going to get interesting today as G, Robby, and J.T. Barnes discuss: is Santa an appropriate approach to Christmas in Christian homes?

Amy has always had a profound impact on the campus of Northwest Christian School. It's an impact that extends much further than the countless hours she invests in teaching--she has gone to extraordinary lengths to be certain that her influence is not just growing her students academically but that they are also growing in their individual relationships with Christ.
What length exactly? Her recent ground-breaking doctoral dissertation, "The Effectiveness of Spiritual Formation Strategies in Generation Z", has caused shockwaves in the field of Christian education. And, now, post-dissertation, she has become the first post-doctoral fellow at Grand Canyon University, professionally commissioned by Christian School Management, to continue and expand her research.
The interesting part of it all? The subjects of her research are her students at Northwest Christian School. In fact, in one form or another, every single high school student on the NCS campus has contributed to better understanding how students grow in their faith.
Today, with a re-broadcast of an earlier episode which will allow listeners to reacquaint themselves with Dr. Yoder, we launch a month-long deep-dive of podcast episodes in which we explore Amy's research.
In the process, you will have a front row seat to the most candid, the most transparent research done into the spiritual disciplines of high schoolers...our high schoolers!

Known to millions as "Momma Lee", Debbie Lee is an author, public speaker and political activist who has traveled the nation telling her son's amazing story and advocating for our troops, their families, and the families of the fallen.
Debbie understands the sacrifice our troops make and that “Freedom isn’t free.”
On Aug 2, 2006 she received a knock on the door that would forever change her life. She was notified that her son, Marc Alan Lee, had been killed in action, becoming the first Navy SEAL killed in Iraq.
Since that day, Debbie has dedicated her life to honoring our troops and the families of the fallen, defending our defenders, and fighting to keep the freedoms that our troops have fought for. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that our troops and military and Gold Star families have access to respite and important services that help assist recovery after injury or loss.
By God’s strength she chose to rise above the most devastating circumstance of her life to impact other’s lives giving them hope and encouragement. In response to her son’s last letter home to “pass on the love, the kindness, the precious gift of human life” she founded America’s Mighty Warriors and is providing programs that improve quality of life, resiliency and recovery. Debbie has completed a multitude of cross country tours, visited Gitmo, and visited Iraq in 2007 and 2010, becoming the First Gold Star Mom in history to visit the combat zone where her son died. She has conducted over 1,000 media interviews and has been a regular on FOX news. Debbie appeared on stage with Tim McGraw at the ACMA’s in 2007, has met with President Bush numerous times, and can often be found on Capitol Hill advocating for our troops.
In today's very special episode, Debbie reveals that Christ is the source of the strength that she has relied upon throughout her brave journey.

Merriam-Webster defines a "plumb line" as "a line (as of cord) that has at one end a weight (such as a plumb bob) and is used especially to determine perfect verticality". For Jay Rudolph, who has spent decades in the radio industry, a plumb line is the perfect picture of what God has called him to do: to challenge listeners all across the United States to see the truths of God's Word as the "plumb line" of their lives, the key to living in a perfect, harmonious, vertical relationship with the Heavenly Father.
Today, we hear Jay's testimony--his journey to Christ and his call to move from traditional sports/talk radio to Christian talk radio. And, beyond that, as a champion of Christian radio ministry, Jay's ready to answer the critics who look to denigrate Christian radio as second-rate and ineffective.
To learn more about Jay Rudolph's dynamic radio ministry, please follow this link.
If you live in Phoenix, you can check out The Plumb Line each Saturday at 1:00pm on KPXQ/1360am. For more information, click here.

Northwest Christian School's annual student-centered, Gospel-reading campaign is called REDLETTERCHALLENGE.ORG.
And, we tend to get so excited about all of it -- students, the…
That's certainly the case with Fall 2026. Launched in elementary chapel on Wednesday, August 26th, REDLETTERCHALLENGE.ORG invites students into the daily discipline of time in God's word. We read one chapter per day, working our way through the four gospels, over the course of three months. Along the way, as we work to inspire a love of daily time with Jesus, we provide extrinsic reminders of the intrinsic worth that such a commitment can make in their lives!
To assist our families with this process, as we move through the Red Letter Challenge, each day for the next several weeks, we're going to publish a podcast episode within the Kingdom Culture Conversations venue, that features Geoff Brown reading that day's gospel chapter.
For more info, and to join the fun, please visit REDLETTERCHALLENGE.ORG.
Northwest Christian School in Phoenix, Arizona is pleased to present "Kingdom Culture Conversations", a podcast committed to exploring the issues that shape culture from the perspective of a Biblical worldview. Through enlightening and interesting topical conversations, you will hear diverse perspectives that inform our prayers as we pray "Thy Kingdom Come"...
