For nearly 20 years, Vanessa Manago has been wowing audiences with her pointed storytelling style. From stage to screen, her productions are just the right balance of dynamic visuals, heartfelt dialogues and a concert of soundtracks and sound design elements. They are aggressive yet palatable, inspiring while challenging – she knows how to engage audiences in a way that makes them a part of the story.

Vanessa stumbled into production while teaching Music at a private school. She wrote and produced her first stageplay in 2004. The 75-minute production entitled “From Glory” had a cast of more than 200 children. It portrayed the preparation of Jesus’ arrival on Earth from the perspective of Heaven. The production ended with his safe arrival in the arms of his mother. The sold-out production was a great success and although Vanessa had been trained in audio production, this experience was just what was needed to awaken her passion for production and visual storytelling.

Two years later, she returned to school. While completing a B.F.A. in Digital Film, she began putting her skill to work by producing short format videos for A-list entertainers, non-profit organizations and corporate brands. She then completed contracting work at a large Federal Agency, further refining her production and storytelling skill and crafting her unique talent for creating digital product lines. Vanessa has been celebrated for her ability to “story-tize” high-level concepts and present them on screen. As a result of her unique approach to digital storytelling, Vanessa has received more than 18 awards, including 4 Corporate Awards and many personal notes of appreciation and recognition from high-ranking Officials in the Department of Defense.

Today, Vanessa is focused on working exclusively with corporate and non-profit brands that have adopted storytelling in their marketing and outreach strategies. She is a master of creating a media-based product lines and, as a result, works primarily with clients that are looking to build their media base and achieve long-term outcomes. She has built the infrastructure of VMI Brands, a full-service, full-cycle, media conglomerate that takes stories from script to screen. The family of brands consist of The VMI Agency, a production design company that conceptualizes stories and completes all pre-production tasks, Switch Digital Studios, an all-digital film and video production studio, and Latter Reign Entertainment, a distribution arm for faith-based content.

Vanessa is married with 3 children. The family lives in White Plains, MD just outside of Washington, DC.

Kingdom entrepreneurs have a purpose – our job is to manifest God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. We do this through prayer, through our holy businesses, through acting on God’s Word and holy inspiration. 

As we are tuned into God’s voice, we can navigate any season - no matter how strange or difficult it may be.  I have activated a few life strategies that I use to navigate every new season in my life, whether I am transitioning between jobs, have a new child, a new endeavor or responsibility. 

I follow this process whenever I feel overwhelmed or as though I am not accomplishing the purpose and intentions God has placed in my heart.  We can regain momentum by resetting our schedules through this process I call “Lifestyle Design”.

There was a long process that I experienced before I fully accepted my Kingdom identity. And to be honest, it's still a process. As Kingdom entrepreneurs, we must make a decision to leave a LEGACY of faith.

Soul Regimen is a place to heal, empower and restore the spiritual, social and entrepreneurial treasures of African-American women.

Soul Regimen is the regimented or structured plan devised by the Holy Spirit to bring God’s people closer to Him – to nourish the life of the soul within each of us with the living water of His presence. It involves prayer, silence, worship, study and a commitment to a relationship with Jesus Christ.

It is a lifestyle of faith, practice, devotion, love and action under the divine choreography of the Holy Spirit.

It is but a fraction of God’s Master Plan to bring His people into alignment with His purpose – to carry out Kingdom businesses, visions and ideas – all for His GLORY.

One of the things I’ve noticed is that when we start our day off tired, depleted, without energy, when we don’t fill up with God’s presence, when we don’t ask God for guidance…when God isn’t directing our path – we set ourselves up for failure and we can become like ships without a sail – just drifting.

If we want to be intentional, if we want to be wealthy, healthy, beautiful, polished and successful, ALL THAT takes planning.

There is a famous quote that says “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

Many of us start off the day with a plan to fail due to a lack of intention and preparation.

Taking this one step of preparing ourselves for success will already provide a competitive advantage.
