Well I finally got my interview with Miss Mobile Bay 2022, Bri Burrell downloaded and completed. Enjoy!
A Weekend of Queens: A series of conversations with three women who won and exceeded their own expectations
I have a lot of pageant associates on Facebook and around the world who compete in pageants of all kinds and know about many, many things. I am chatting with one of them today about her recent win during the 20th anniversary of our original meeting, Plus America and the new Legends crown that she won over the weekend. Listen and Learn!
"The Platinum DIVA": Rose H. McCall
Being invited to "do a pageant" can be a thrill and a half. Doing a pageant, with little to no experience is all the ingredients you need for a nightmare. I have reviewed photos, videos and head shots from several pageants. Here is my take (36 years of experience in pageantry).
The Platinum DIVA - Rose McCall
As a child I heard my mother utter those words... "You don't come for and I won't come for you", meaning don't pick a fight with me if I have done nothing to you. It may not turn out the way you've planned it. In this three-part podcast, I discuss the "Slap seen around the world"; Causes and Consequences of Stardom and its management or mismanagement; and finally the "War Putin Made"!
Sorry this is so late but I have lost a friend since my last posting and taken time out to do some introspection.

This week we lost one of our brightest lights in the Pageant community, Miss USA 2019, Chesli Kryst. You never know what is going on behind a person's face until you pull the mask that hides their despair and disappointment. Get some help can be easily said. It was said to me many years ago. It's been said to alot of us. We need to care for each other more during this time of COVID and self-imposed quarantine. It never hurts to ask: "Are you ok?" because they may not be. Call a friend, hunt for them on Facebook if they have not been seen or heard from in sometime, write a letter like we used to do years ago just to say hello.
Well as promised this begins my first series of recordings with my Sister-Queens and others in pageantry. Today I am interviewing Alabamaian Bri Burrell, Miss Mobile Bay 2021. This is her first pageant experience and I will be going to MAP since they are going back to Samford University in July.
Announcement:
Alabama Sr. America selects its latest Queen and names a new Director
Rose H. McCall, Alabama Sr. America Administrator and new Director, announces the selection of their latest titleholder for 2022. Marilyon Cleveland (Dowdy) of Horton, Alabama, will represent the state at the 43rd installment of the Senior America Pageant to be held September 5-9, 2022 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The pageant has new owners, Denise and Floyd Russo-Caiazzo of Pennsylvania and they have moved the national pageant to their base of operations in Pennsylvania. Senior America began under the direction of Dr. Al Mott in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the late 90’s and Alabama has participated for the last 34 years. Ms. McCall, the new director, served as the last Queen from 2020-2021 and was named as Administrator and director by the new owners. The next State pageant for Alabama is tentatively scheduled for Spring of 2023 in Montgomery, Alabama. To inquire or receive information about the 2023 pageant, please e-mail: [email protected]
Ok, as you can tell from the title its time for a change. Look for "The Platinum DIVA Speaks" to start reigning in a few weeks! I will keep it to this same page but transition the artwork and signature themes.
This is my next to last episode as I transition to a theme and guests for my podcasts in the near future. Remember to put a mask on it and get the vaccine because COVID is not taking any prisoners!

Alabama Sr. America 2021
So much to do and so little time to do it in. I took a hiatus from podcasting for a few weeks to get something together - pageants, family heath, and personal challenges.... but guess what? I'm back! I am also trying to decide on a title change to the podcast after August and changes I need to make to include guests in the future. Can't wait to find out how my pageant dreams change as I move forward in the rest of this year and beyond!
