Baptism might seem like a strange thing to do in our culture. But it represents the death of our old sinful selves and our new birth into a life reconciled to God and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

It’s a good time for us to reflect as a church on all the new initiatives we’ve been launching this term. On Sunday morning, Dan shared about the church in Antioch in Acts 11, which tells a remarkable story of God’s grace.

Jesus calls us to pray and in return we get to drink from rivers of living water. Prayer reminds us of grace, hope and power, which we need every day.

The solution for a divided world is a united church. According to Ephesians, the church that Jesus builds isn’t just an extension of Jewish religion. Rather it is a community where anyone can belong and be equal as children of God through faith in Jesus.
