'With so many world religions and philosophies on offer, why should anyone turn to Jesus?' This is the question addressed by Andy Bannister, director of the Solas Centre for Public Christianity, and an Adjunct Speaker for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, at our Alpha Launch Sunday morning service.

Perhaps the most commonly-used phrase to describe Christians in the New Testament is “in Christ”. Its three key meanings of where we put our faith, what Christ has done for us, and how we are united to Him are vital for Christians to comprehend if we’re to understand ourselves and God’s relationship with us.

Ephesians begins with these remarkable words of address: “to God’s holy people in Ephesus”, not describing a sub-group within the church but the whole church in Ephesus.

Jesus was often involved in arguments with people about what, and who, was right and wrong. When we see that He has authority to define right and wrong, and what He did with this authority, we should give up defining truth ourselves and happily obey Him.

This isn’t a hypothetical question, because the author of Hebrews says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”. His thoughts on the church today can be understood from what he said 2000 years ago.
