Everyone one of us see the brokenness around us, and the brokenness within. We look to government, celebrities, thinkers, entrepreneurs, and influencers to tell us how to have the good life we desire. Or we turn inward and are left with the stress and anxiety of figuring out how to achieve the life that we can only receive. In this Psalm we see that there is a way to partake in true life. In Psalm 42 the Psalmist describes depression like surging breaker drowning him in despair. He is so down that the only nourishment he has is the very tears that he cries. We are constantly bombarded with lies. Lies about our world, lies about who we are, and most devastatingly lies about God. Deep down every person desires to belong. We go through life searching for our tribe, because finding community is embedded into our DNA. What if God, in his infinite wisdom created a community in which all people could belong. Regardless of your race, gender, socio-economic status, or sexual orientation you can receive Christ and be grafted into the family of God. In Acts 16 to Roman jailer ask one of most important questions that any person can ask, "what must I do to be saved?" This is an implicit question that drives our day-to-day life even if we are completely unaware of it. We all know that things are not the way they are supposed to be.
