Ken uses the story of Cornelius in Acts 10 to challenge us with the Perspectives, Power, and Purpose of Church Growth.

From Acts 2:17-36... Our identity is a community of the redeemed. Our message is the message of the Gospel (God’s Love through Jesus Christ). Our strength and resources comes from God’s Holy Spirit at work in us.

We tend to think that our local church belongs to us, when the church actually belongs to Jesus: this is HIS church, not ours.

5 Questions to determine how you are doing with others?

1. Do you withhold otherness for selfish reasons? (3:27)

2. Do you promote good or plot against your neighbor? (3:28-29)

3. Do you blame more than you bless? (3:30)

4. Do you imitate or improve the bad behavior of those around you? (3:31-32)

5. Do you invest spiritually in those under your roof? (3:33-35)

Ken continues his summer series "Say Yes to God" from Proverbs 3:21-26.

Following God's wisdom is an essential component is saying YES to God himself.

Ken preaches from Proverbs 3:11-12 - My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. - Proverbs 3:9-10

Say YES to God is as simple as trusting that He is looking out for our best... will we trust him to lead us in the direction he wants us to go?
