This week I will be going through the second part of the Special Guardianship Policy for Liverpool City Council. Note this is only specific to Liverpool when it comes to policy yet there are let’s of authorities who use the same framework. It is best to speak to your Social Worker or Local Authority to ask if they have their own policy. And if not, why not?

Why is Kinship such a hard thing to say in media. We have had Eastenders tackling Special Guardianship Orders but without actually explaining what it all meant for those going through it. TV shows like Alma's Not Normal and Happy Valley deal with Kinship stories, but don’t mention Kinship by name. Why is this? Saying it once would shine a light in the cause and open some eyes to Kinship Carers and Kids.
