One of our favorite Texas country artists helps us kick off Season 2!
For our first episode of 2023, we met up with Josh Abbott before he and the band took the stage at Billy Bob’s Texas — where we recorded from the green room! We talked to Josh about how it feels to play the world's largest honky-tonk, the birth of the Josh Abbott Band and their years at Texas Tech, his biggest inspirations as an artist, career milestones, the JAB Cares foundation and what’s up next. We also compare notes from our time in Vegas at the NFR (the Super Bowl of Rodeo, where we saw JAB play in December).

Our pal Pat Green showed up in his dad uniform to catch up with us before the holidays! He talks family, what he loves about living in Fort Worth and, of course, his long career as a singer-songwriter — how it's evolved through the years, being on the road, his biggest inspirations, favorite songs and more.

From November 14 to December 10, the NCHA (National Cutting Horse Association) is calling Will Rogers Coliseum home, and throughout 3 weeks of competition during the World Championship Futurity, there’s more than just top horses and riders stepping foot on the grounds. People from all over travel to watch the futurity, as well as take part in the activities, shopping and festivities. Top vendors make their way to set up their booths and give an intimate Christmas shopping experience.
NCHA Foundation Director Julia Buswold discusses the competition, as well as the foundation and this year’s offerings. From the standout show Yellowstone to Mini Moos, we hit the high notes of the final weeks of the Futurity, and they have something for everyone!
Celebrity cutting isn’t out of the question for Kirbe and Lizzy, but that will have to wait until next year (to hopefully give us time to become cutters… and celebrities)!

PBR (Professional Bull Riders) recently moved its finals to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth — where we caught up with Aubrey O'Quin to chat about Western Sports Foundation.
From Aubrey's roots in the western industry to her commitment and involvement now, we cover some ground, talking all things Western Sports and the services provided, the people involved and the importance of the foundation.
Western Sports Foundation was founded in 1998 to set up athletes to be successful inside and outside of the arena. WSF is taking western sports athletes to new heights in their careers and providing support beyond competition. With access to industry experts in the fields of Sports Neurology, Nutrition, Personal Training and Financial Planning (and more!), athletes are given the tools to thrive as individuals, as well as sons, daughters, mothers and fathers. They have access to WSF-provided services from the comfort of their home or while on the competition road ... at no cost to them. Western Sports Foundation is committed to developing additional service programs that support changing needs of western sports athletes.

Trial by fire is how she describes diving into the social media world. The face behind Fort Worth Woman (@fortworthwoman) Michelle Miles learned the publication world from her father, who started San Antonio Woman Magazine, and when she put down roots in Fort Worth (after meeting her husband at TCU), she decided to take the city by storm and create Fort Worth Woman. She first wanted to see if it had any juice on Instagram — and low and behold it did!
Kirbe sits down with the successful blogger and influencer to talk about the city and community of Fort Worth, her favorite hot spots in town, her approach to social media and how it allows her to connect with people — as well as her love for a man in uniform and a good tequila!

Kirb Appeal recently recorded its first show in front of a live audience — thanks to rodeo photographer and friend of the show Steve Wrubel, who introduced the latest additions to his Let’s Ride series at the Christopher Martin Gallery in Dallas on October 14. In addition to cocktails and Tex-Mex, he brought in Kirb Appeal to help celebrate!
Kirbe and Lizzy joined Steve at the art opening — as well as special guests Nancy Shearer, founder of NS Marketing, and champion bareback rider Tilden Hooper, an 8-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo — to talk Western lifestyle, rodeo and what makes cowboy cool.
Of course, Taylor Sheridan and Yellowstone come up in the conversation, as does Tilden’s starring 12-second role on the show … and Steve’s brush with death in the arena, his favorite athletes to photograph, and working the Steiner family.

Welcome to our first Couch Conversation!
(*Please excuse the audio issues – we are still working on our home studio setups.)
We're going to start catching up from the comfort of our own homes every once in a while to fill you in on what we’ve been up to and what’s coming up next — as well as to talk pop culture, fashion trends, our beauty and health routines and any random topics that come to mind.
For our first Couch Convo in Lizzy's living room, we’re joined by a special guest — Lizzy’s mini Aussie Birdie! We sit down on her big yellow couch with our Glowing Green Smoothies (our favorite was to start the day) and talk about City Boots’ first fashion show, our fall wardrobes, Kirbe’s childhood modeling career, Kanye on Instagram, our recent adventures in Dallas and Forth, who is more high maintenance, and our ideal guests, among other things. All while torturing our producer Holly, of course.
Anything you'd like to hear about in our next Couch Conversation? We’d love you to hear from you! Leave questions or topic suggestions in the comments or submit them here: https://kirbappealshow.com/contact/
