Kirby Woods Podcast

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on May 3, 2026.

Main Idea:
The Lord seals His covenant people, protecting them from falling away during times of trial and tribulation. What God seals, He always delivers!

Challenge:
How can you rest in the assurance of God’s spiritual seal upon your life? How does this seal give you greater confidence in facing trials?

Four truths about those sealed in Revelation 7:
1. The Sealed are Secured
2. The Sealed are Specified
3. The Sealed are Seen
4. The Sealed Sing

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on April 26, 2026.

Main Idea:
The sixth seal is opened, and a terrifying vision of the judgment of the unbelieving world unfolds. The earth cannot bear the weight of God’s wrath, and the lost seek to hide from the Lamb.

Challenge:
Who can stand against God’s wrath? How do you hear the phrase, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”

In the opening of the sixth seal, we see a:
1. Cosmic Destruction
2. Comprehensive Dread
3. Cataclysmic Day

Pastor Jared interviews Kirby Woods' newest pastor: Michael Slaughter. Pastor Michael was called in Spring 2026 to serve as the worship pastor at Kirby Woods Baptist Church. Enjoy getting to know him a bit better, as well as a discussion on the state of modern worship music and choirs.

A special message from Pastor Jared to those who love Kirby Woods and have been considering joining.

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on April 19, 2026.

Main Idea:
After the destructive release of the four horsemen, the natural question arises: What about the church? Here, as the fifth seal is broken, we see that there is a special protection and promise for those slain for Christ.

Challenge:
What value do you place on living for Christ regardless of the cost?

As the fifth seal is broken, we see:
1. Those Slain for Word and Witness
2. The Cry for Virtuous Vindication
3. The Response of Pledge and Patience

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on April 12, 2026.

Main Idea:
The Lamb begins to open the scroll’s seals, revealing His intent to bring broad judgment upon the earth through the four horsemen. The believer, however, is encouraged to know that their suffering is not random but serves a greater purpose within God’s plan.

Challenge:
Do you see the suffering and judgment of this world as from the Lord’s throne, or as a random series of chaotic events?

Four Agents of Judgment:
1. White Horse: Conquest
2. Red Horse: War
3. Black Horse: Economics
4. Pale Horse: Pestilence
5. What does it mean?

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on April 5, 2026.

Main Idea:
Every barrier between Jesus’ death and resurrection was eliminated when He emerged from the tomb alive. The resurrection of Jesus is an undeniable truth that must be acknowledged.

Challenge:
What barriers are you putting between you and Jesus? Isn’t the same God who rolled away the stone, scared the soldiers, broke the seal, and revealed the truth of the gospel worthy of your life and devotion?

Four Barriers to the Resurrection that Christ Overcame
1. A Physical Barrier: The Stone
2. A Fearsome Barrier: The Soldiers
3. A Forensic Barrier: The Seal
4. A Faith Barrier: The Story

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on March 29, 2026.

Main Idea:
Jesus began Holy Week with the well-deserved shout of loud “Hosannas,” only to have the Pharisees try to silence the praise. Jesus, however, was on a path that could not be stopped. His name will be praised!

Challenge:
Will you join in the shout of loud “Hosanna” praise to Jesus? Will you engage with those who seek to cover up and rebuke that praise?

In the Triumphal Entry, we see:
1. A Deserved Reception
2. An Attempted Suppression
3. An Inevitable Praise

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on March 22, 2026.

Main Idea:
The worthiness of the slain Lamb calls for a complete response from all of creation. Since Heaven grants Him a sevenfold blessing, we must give Him a sevenfold reply.

Challenge:
How can our lives show that Jesus has our power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing? Where might we be holding back?

Jesus Already Has, Yet Still Deserves:
1. Power
2. Wealth
3. Wisdom
4. Might
5. Honor
6. Glory
7. Blessing
