  • The Lopsided Trade

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on August 30, 2026

    Main Idea:
The Bible is full of lopsided trades where someone sacrifices something valuable for less. We should learn from this—whether in passion or consideration—to never trade worth for worthlessness.

    Challenge:
Where in your life are you making an imbalanced trade?

Three Lopsided Trades You Should Not Make
    Momentary Craving
    Eventual Concession
    Cold Calculation

One Lopsided Trade You Should Make
    Sin for Righteousness

  • The Riparian Church | Ezekiel 47:1-12

    Preached by Jared Kress.

    Main Idea:
The prophetic image of water flowing from the restored temple powerfully reminds us of God’s worship and mission. What begins at the throne must become a mighty river of living water that restores all it touches.

    Challenge:
How do you see the river of living water portrayed in your life? Does the depth of your gospel waters deepen, bringing healing to those around you?

As we follow the river of living water from God’s temple, we see:
    1. The Source
    2. The Course
    3. The Overflow

  • Rooted Spirituality | 1 John 4:1-6

    Preached by Pastor Jared Kress

    Main Idea:
In a spiritual world growing in spiritual interest, it’s important for Christians to understand how to be rooted. We are to “test the spirits” and to experience good spirituality through the lens of confessing Christ.

    Challenge:
Do you routinely test the spirits, or are you too lenient about what enters your “spiritual gaze?” When was the last time you rejected something for not aligning with Christ?

    Elements of Rooted Spirituality
    1. Spiritual Discernment (Test the Spirits)
    2. Spiritual Division (The Jesus Test)
    3. Spiritual Dominion (I Overcome)

  • A Tale of Three Altars

    Preached by Jared Kress

    Main Idea:
One particular plot of ground on Mount Moriah is the site of three significant acts of sacrifice and substitution.

    Challenge:
How does the Lord meet us in a moment of anguish and provide a merciful act of provision? How do we see the sovereign hand of God at work as He orchestrates so much on a single plot of ground?

Three Connected Altars at One Location:
    1. The Threshing Floor
    2. Mount Moriah
    3. Golgotha

  • The Avenger | 1 Kings 21

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on 7/19/26.

    Main Idea:
We love the God of grace, but do we love the God of justice? True worship means praising God for all of who He is—both His mercy and His holiness. The cross of Jesus is the ultimate intersection where God's perfect justice and His infinite grace meet.

    Challenge:
Do you love the God of justice? Acknowledge the cry for justice in your own heart. Realize that your personal need for grace and the world’s need for justice are both answered at the cross of Christ.

    1. Ahab and a Covetous Attitude (1 Kings 21:1–4)
    2. Naboth and a Conscientious Perspective (1 Kings 21:3)
    3. Jezebel and a Corrupt Coverup (1 Kings 21:5–16)
    4. Elijah and a Confrontational Prophecy (1 Kings 21:17–24)
    5. God and a Compensation of Justice (2 Kings 9)

  • Sheltered by the King | 2 Sam. 9:1-13

Preached by Pastor Jared Kress on July 12, 2026

    Main Idea:
One of the strongest measures of character is how you treat those who cannot personally benefit you. When David became King, it would have been culturally acceptable to kill Mephibosheth, but he did the exact opposite.

    Challenge:
How do you treat those who cannot directly benefit you? How far would you go to keep a promise? How do we see the gospel in Mephibosheth’s story?

    King David....
    1. Seeks Someone to Shelter
    2. Extends an Elaborate Offer
    3. Discerns a Difficult Dilemma

  • Becoming Nehushtan | The Bronze Serpent Story Arc

Preached by Pastor Jared on July 5, 2026.

The bronze serpent in the wilderness was originally a powerful symbol of salvation, but over time it became an idol unto itself that needed to be destroyed. Yet Jesus does not minimize the bronze serpent's original intent but rather preaches it accurately.

How do we allow good things to become idols in our lives? In what areas do we seek the gift of God over God Himself?

The Story Arc of the Bronze Serpent in Scripture:
    1. Original: Look and Live
    2. Perversion: Offerings to Nehushtan
    3. Reclaiming: The Exalted Son

  • The Bones That Testified

Preached by Jared Kress on June 28, 2026.

    Main Idea:
The movement of Joseph’s bones speaks to his own faith in God’s promise, as well as to the multi-generational obedience of many people. His bones, which could have been an inconvenience, served as an anchor to the past and a beacon for the future.

    Challenge:
What is something you look at that reminds you of God’s faithfulness? What anchors you to the past, and what gives you hope for the future?

The Bones of Joseph Testified in Three Ways, in Three Times:
    1. How We Got Here (Egypt)
    2. We Can’t Stay Here (Wilderness)
    3. God Brought Us Here (Promised Land)
